REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEM13ER 19, 1990 <br />This pedestrian walkway will have to be located in the parking <br />lanes of Wayne and Main Streets to allow construction access <br />behind the walkway. Under the terms of the construction <br />documents, these barricades and walkways are provided by another <br />prime contractor and not by the masonry contractor. <br />Mr. Giolitto further indicated that it should be noted that the <br />work will not be done on both the north and west elevations at <br />the same time. Only one side of the building will be remodeled <br />at any given point in time. Further, they are requesting that <br />the occupancy permit be valid from December 1, 1990 through June <br />30, 1991. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE REMODELING OF THE NEW <br />EQUIPMENT SERVICES BUILDING - 1045 WEST SAMPLE STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division <br />of Equipment Services, advised that the City has made a <br />commitment to occupy the National Mill Supply Building, located <br />at 1045 West Sample Street with the building serving as the <br />City's Fleet Services Center. <br />Mr. St. Clair noted that prior use of the building was limited to <br />warehousing and over the counter "parts" sales and in order to <br />insure the building will properly serve the City's needs, there <br />will be extensive modifications required aid the City and the <br />Troyer Group have completed specifications as to the particular <br />types of modifications needed. Therefore, Mr. St. Clair <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />this remodeling. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the request be <br />approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS SHELVING AND STORAGE <br />RACKS IN THE NATIONAL MILL SUPPLY BUILDING (NEW EQUIPMENT <br />SERVICES BUILDING) LOCATED AT 1045 WEST SAMPLE STREET <br />Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division of Equipment Services, <br />advised that as a result of the recent purchase of the National <br />Mill Supply Building, the City has obtained more storage devices <br />than is needed. Therefore, he is requesting that the City take <br />bids on the existing shelving and storage racks so that their <br />presence does not hinder the upcoming construction in the <br />building. <br />Mr. St. Clair advised that the existing shelves are divided into <br />two (2) halves. The east section, which is to remain, and the <br />west section, which should be removed consisting of the <br />following: <br />WEST SECTION (LOWER): <br />Twenty (20) rows of shelving (116" deep, 24' in <br />length, 8' in height.) Included are twenty-four <br />(24) 8' light fixtures, and 1,353 shelves. <br />WEST SECTION (UPPER): <br />- Ten (10) rows of shelving (116" deep, 24' in <br />length, 8' in height and ten (10) rows of . <br />additional shelving with measurements of 116" <br />deep, 21' in length, 8' in height. Total of <br />1,108 shelves. <br />Upper section includes a 71x60' walkway, ten (10) <br />rows of walkways (31x241) and two (2) 7' dates. There <br />are no stairs included with these shelves. <br />
