REGULAR MEETING NOVEM13ER 19, 1990 This pedestrian walkway will have to be located in the parking lanes of Wayne and Main Streets to allow construction access behind the walkway. Under the terms of the construction documents, these barricades and walkways are provided by another prime contractor and not by the masonry contractor. Mr. Giolitto further indicated that it should be noted that the work will not be done on both the north and west elevations at the same time. Only one side of the building will be remodeled at any given point in time. Further, they are requesting that the occupancy permit be valid from December 1, 1990 through June 30, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE REMODELING OF THE NEW EQUIPMENT SERVICES BUILDING - 1045 WEST SAMPLE STREET In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division of Equipment Services, advised that the City has made a commitment to occupy the National Mill Supply Building, located at 1045 West Sample Street with the building serving as the City's Fleet Services Center. Mr. St. Clair noted that prior use of the building was limited to warehousing and over the counter "parts" sales and in order to insure the building will properly serve the City's needs, there will be extensive modifications required aid the City and the Troyer Group have completed specifications as to the particular types of modifications needed. Therefore, Mr. St. Clair requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for this remodeling. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS SHELVING AND STORAGE RACKS IN THE NATIONAL MILL SUPPLY BUILDING (NEW EQUIPMENT SERVICES BUILDING) LOCATED AT 1045 WEST SAMPLE STREET Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division of Equipment Services, advised that as a result of the recent purchase of the National Mill Supply Building, the City has obtained more storage devices than is needed. Therefore, he is requesting that the City take bids on the existing shelving and storage racks so that their presence does not hinder the upcoming construction in the building. Mr. St. Clair advised that the existing shelves are divided into two (2) halves. The east section, which is to remain, and the west section, which should be removed consisting of the following: WEST SECTION (LOWER): Twenty (20) rows of shelving (116" deep, 24' in length, 8' in height.) Included are twenty-four (24) 8' light fixtures, and 1,353 shelves. WEST SECTION (UPPER): - Ten (10) rows of shelving (116" deep, 24' in length, 8' in height and ten (10) rows of . additional shelving with measurements of 116" deep, 21' in length, 8' in height. Total of 1,108 shelves. Upper section includes a 71x60' walkway, ten (10) rows of walkways (31x241) and two (2) 7' dates. There are no stairs included with these shelves.
