317 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1990 <br />2. The Board of Managers of Century Center retains its <br />authority to prepare specifications for bids and proposals and to <br />review, award, accept and reject bids and proposals involving <br />Century Center matters. <br />Approved this 19th day of September, 1990. <br />CENTURY CENTER BOARD OF MANAGERS: <br />s/Karl King III, President <br />s/David Harr, Secretary <br />s/Rollin E. O'Connor, Jr. <br />s/George Murray, Vice -President <br />s/Edwin Ehlers, Treasurer <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1113 NORTH BURNS - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Elvis Willis, 302 Napoleon <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that he is interested in <br />purchasing the City -owned property located at 1113 North Burns. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus in order that a <br />determination can be made as to whether the City need retain this <br />property for any reason. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL TO CLOSE WASHINGTON <br />STREET, FROM LOMBARDY TO SUMMITT, ON OCTOBER 18, 1990, IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH PEP RALLY <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Kaser, Principal, <br />Washington High School, 4747 West Washington Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested that Washington Street, from Lombardy to <br />Summitt, be closed from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, <br />October 18, 1990, for safety reasons, in conjunction with a pep <br />rally that will be held on that date. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO INSTALL A CANOPY AT 925 <br />BLAINE AVENUE - FAITH BAPTIST BIBLE INSTITUTE - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Hank Craft, Sales Representative, <br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested approval to install a canopy at the Faith <br />Baptist Bible Institute, 925 Blaine Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Mr. Craft noted that the canopy will be installed at a minimum of <br />eight feet (81) six inches (611) from the sidewalk level to the <br />bottom of the canopy. Also submitted was a drawing indicating <br />the canopy dimensions and details. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) <br />STANDARD MODEL CARGO VAN - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phillip St. Clair, Director, <br />Division of Equipment Services, requested that the Board <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) standard model <br />cargo van which will be assigned to the South Bend Fire <br />Department. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be <br />approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />
