251 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20. 1990 REQUEST TO CLOSE CLOVER STREET, FROM HILDRETH TO NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 29, 1990 - REFERRED Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of an Application for Use of and Blocking of Access to Public Right -of -Way for a Party or Similar Event, from Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Kinney, 1209 Clover Street, South Bend, Indiana, requesting that Clover, from Hildreth to Northside Boulevard, be closed on Saturday, September 29, 1990 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a neighborhood block party. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUESTS: - OF A.B.A.T.E. OF INDIANA TO CONDUCT MOTORCYCLE RIDE THROUGH VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS IN CITY OF'SOUTH BEND - SEPTEMBER 2. 1990 - OF HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE COMMITTEE TO CLOSE LA PORTE STREET, FROM W. WASHINGTON TO W. COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION WITH 11TH ANNUAL HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE - SEPTEMBER 8 1990 - OF Y-KNOT SHACK TO CLOSE 600 BLOCK OF STUDEBAKER STREET FOR PICNIC FOR CUSTOMERS - SEPTEMBER 3, 1990 - OF TEMPLE BETH-EL FOR PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF W. MADISON STREET AND N. LAFAYETTE IN CONJUNCTION WITH HOLY DAY SERVICES Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, which were submitted to the Board on July 23, 1990 and August 23, 1990, have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the requests be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE ADDITIONAL REQUESTS FOR STREET CLOSURES: - REQUEST TO CLOSE BELLEVUE, FROM RUSKIN TO HILDRETH. FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 8, 1990 Ms. Ann M. Brown, 1006 Bellevue, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application for Use of and Blocking of Access to Public Right -of -Way for a Party or Similar Event, requesting that Bellevue, from Ruskin to Hildreth, be closed on Saturday, September 8, 1990, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a neighborhood block party. REQUEST OF FIRST A.M.E. ZION CHURCH TO CLOSE CAMPEAU STREET, FROM EDDY TO FRANCES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHURCH BAZAAR - AUGUST 25, 1990 Mr. Wendell Preston, Chairman of Trustee Board, First A.M.E. Zion Church, advised that the Board had previously approved the closing of Campeau Street, from Eddy to Frances, on August 4, 1990 in conjunction with a fun fair bazaar that would be taking place at the church. Due to rain on that date, Mr. Preston is requesting that the street be closed on August 25, 1990 from 9:00 a.m. until dusk. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the above referred to requests for street closures have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and approval is also recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that these requests be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
