251 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20. 1990 <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE CLOVER STREET, FROM HILDRETH TO NORTHSIDE <br />BOULEVARD, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 29, 1990 - <br />REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of an <br />Application for Use of and Blocking of Access to Public <br />Right -of -Way for a Party or Similar Event, from Mr. & Mrs. Jerry <br />Kinney, 1209 Clover Street, South Bend, Indiana, requesting that <br />Clover, from Hildreth to Northside Boulevard, be closed on <br />Saturday, September 29, 1990 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a <br />neighborhood block party. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that <br />this request be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF A.B.A.T.E. OF INDIANA TO CONDUCT MOTORCYCLE RIDE THROUGH <br />VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS IN CITY OF'SOUTH BEND - SEPTEMBER 2. 1990 <br />- OF HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE COMMITTEE TO CLOSE LA PORTE <br />STREET, FROM W. WASHINGTON TO W. COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION <br />WITH 11TH ANNUAL HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE - SEPTEMBER 8 <br />1990 <br />- OF Y-KNOT SHACK TO CLOSE 600 BLOCK OF STUDEBAKER STREET FOR <br />PICNIC FOR CUSTOMERS - SEPTEMBER 3, 1990 <br />- OF TEMPLE BETH-EL FOR PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF W. MADISON <br />STREET AND N. LAFAYETTE IN CONJUNCTION WITH HOLY DAY SERVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, <br />which were submitted to the Board on July 23, 1990 and August 23, <br />1990, have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq <br />made a motion that the requests be approved. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE ADDITIONAL REQUESTS FOR STREET CLOSURES: <br />- REQUEST TO CLOSE BELLEVUE, FROM RUSKIN TO HILDRETH. FOR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 8, 1990 <br />Ms. Ann M. Brown, 1006 Bellevue, South Bend, Indiana, submitted <br />to the Board an Application for Use of and Blocking of Access <br />to Public Right -of -Way for a Party or Similar Event, requesting <br />that Bellevue, from Ruskin to Hildreth, be closed on Saturday, <br />September 8, 1990, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a <br />neighborhood block party. <br />REQUEST OF FIRST A.M.E. ZION CHURCH TO CLOSE CAMPEAU STREET, <br />FROM EDDY TO FRANCES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHURCH BAZAAR - <br />AUGUST 25, 1990 <br />Mr. Wendell Preston, Chairman of Trustee Board, First A.M.E. <br />Zion Church, advised that the Board had previously approved the <br />closing of Campeau Street, from Eddy to Frances, on August 4, <br />1990 in conjunction with a fun fair bazaar that would be taking <br />place at the church. Due to rain on that date, Mr. Preston is <br />requesting that the street be closed on August 25, 1990 from <br />9:00 a.m. until dusk. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the above referred to requests for <br />street closures have been reviewed by the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus and approval is also recommended. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that these requests be <br />approved.
