nmm <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 11, 1990 <br />AWARD BID - LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS AT MONROE & EDGEWATER AND <br />COLFAX & SYCAMORE <br />Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, advised the <br />Board that the bids received on May 29, 1990, for the above <br />referred to project have been reviewed and it is recommended at <br />this time that the low bid of Haskins, Inc., 2520 Oak Road, <br />Plymouth, Indiana, in the amount of $238,537.00 be awarded. Mr. <br />Leszczynski therefore made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be awarded. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />submitted to the Board a Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement as <br />previously approved by the Board. Mr. Meeks noted that the <br />Indiana Department of Transportation has made some minor changes <br />and therefore new copies have been submitted for approval and <br />execution. It was noted that this Agreement was previously <br />approved and executed by the Board on February 19, 1990 and June <br />11, 1990. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />Agreement be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE OF AERATION TANK <br />NO. 4 - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, advised the <br />Board that Superior Construction Company has substantially <br />completed Aeration Tank No. 4, including 48" rectangular <br />butterfly valve modifications as directed by Tenney Pavoni <br />Associates, Inc. This work has been inspected by Tenney Pavoni <br />Associates and Sanitaire as indicated on the letter which was <br />also submitted. Therefore, Mr. Dillon requested that the Board <br />accept this Aeration Tank and indicate so by signing the letter <br />which was submitted. It is noted that this is in regards to <br />Contract III/Division A of the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />Improvements Project. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the letter confirming Substantial Completion and <br />Acceptance of Aeration Tank No. 4 be approved and executed. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS - REFERRED <br />- OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE A PORTION OF <br />ASSUMPTION DRIVE IN CONJUNCTION WITH PARISH FESTIVAL - AUGUST <br />19, 1990 <br />Father John F. Pfister, Pastor, St. Mary of the Assumption <br />Church, 3501 South Locust Road, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />permission to close a portion of Assumption Drive on Sunday, <br />August 19, 1990 from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. in conjunction <br />with the annual Parish Festival. <br />- OF HOSPICE OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY TO CONDUCT 5TH ANNUAL WALK FOR <br />HOSPICE - OCTOBER 14, 1990 <br />Mr. Mark M. Murray, Director of Community Relations and <br />Fund-raising, Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 108 North <br />Main Street, Suites 111-113, South Bend, Indiana, advised that <br />Hospice of St. Joseph County would like to conduct its 5th <br />Annual Walk for Hospice on Sunday, October 14, 1990. The Walk <br />will be a 17K Walk which would begin and end at Potawatomi <br />Park. Registration at the park would begin at noon with the <br />Walk beginning at 1:00 p.m. and finishing at 5:00 p.m. Mr. <br />Murray submitted with the request a map of the proposed route <br />to be utilized and stated that sidewalks and wide grassy areas <br />
