Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS - LIFEPAK 5/DEFIBRILLATORS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that <br />after reviewing the bids received by the Board on April 23, 1990 <br />for the purchase of Lifepak 5 Monitors/Defibrillators which the <br />Fire Department offered for sale, it is his recommendation that <br />the following bids be awarded: <br />SAINT JOSEPH'S MEDICAL CENTER <br />801 East LaSalle <br />P.O. Box 1935 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634-1935 <br />Monitor Serial #10385 <br />Defibrillator Serial #011642 $2,001.00 <br />UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME <br />Notre Dame, Indiana <br />Monitor Serial #0014920 <br />Defibrillator Serial #0014384 $2,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bids were <br />awarded. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />recommended that the Contractor's Bond for B & S Construction, be <br />approved effective April 30, 1990. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE KALORAMA, BETWEEN ST. LOUIS BOULEVARD AND HILL <br />STREET FOR PRE -GRADUATION BLOCK PARTY - MAY 15. 1990 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Shannon Jackson, Ms. Michelle <br />Greene and Ms. Christy Palmer, Block Party Committee, 801 St. <br />Louis Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that as members of <br />this year's graduating class of the University of Notre Dame, <br />they would like permission to sponsor a block party as part of <br />their pre -graduation festivities. The event would take place on <br />Tuesday, May 15, 1990 and would require the blocking of traffic - <br />on Kalorama Street between North St. Louis Boulevard and Hill <br />Street. <br />The Committee noted that they feel that support for this event <br />and neighborhood cooperation would be excellent as there are <br />several houses within this immediate area currently being <br />occupied by members of the graduating class. Furthermore, the <br />block which they are proposing to close off consists of only two <br />(2) houses, a student residence and one (1) house which is <br />currently unoccupied. <br />Further, since this end -of -the -year block party would be held the <br />week following final examinations at Notre Dame, a week <br />
