102 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 19, 1990 <br />30000 TO 33000 GVW TRUCK: <br />- Wrong tire sizes 10.00x20 not 1100R x 20. <br />- Tires were bias tires, not radials. <br />- Wrong rim size on rear 7.5 not 8.0. <br />- No stationary grill. <br />23000 GVW TRUCKā€¢ <br />- Wheel base wrong. 102" not 108" C.A. <br />- Fuel tank only 35 gallon not 50 gallon. <br />- Wrong wheel and tire sizes. <br />- Tires are 12 ply bias not 14 ply radials. <br />- No in -line fuel heater. <br />- No transmission cooler. <br />Mr. Kruszynski advised that he would also like to note that all <br />three (3) bids submitted by Hill Truck Sales do not show the <br />following items: <br />- Hour Meters. <br />- Two (2) sets of parts and service manuals. <br />- Safety kits and fire extinguishers. <br />Therefore, based on the above reasons, it is recommended that the <br />bid of Shamrock Ford be accepted. Ms. Humphreys made a motion <br />that the recommendtion be accepted and the bid of Shamrock Ford <br />be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - SOUTH BEND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADMINISTRATION <br />BUILDING ADDITION <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director of <br />Environmental Services, advised that the bids received on March <br />12, 1990 for the above referred to project have been reviewed. <br />Also, the bids have been discussed with the architect for this <br />project. Therefore, Mr. Dillon recommended that the Board accept <br />the low bid in the amount of $261,725.00 submitted by Ziolkowski <br />Construction Company, 1005 South Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, <br />Indiana. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be approved and awarded. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - PAVING <br />IMPROVEMENTS - BOWMAN CEMETERY <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Upon a <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF POLICE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT AUCTION - MAY 5, <br />1990 <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak <br />requested permission to dispose of unclaimed bicycles and other <br />unclaimed property at a Public Auction to be held on May 5, 1990 <br />from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. or until all items are sold. <br />Chief Marciniak stated that this is the first auction of the year <br />and will be held, rain or shine, in the Street Department garage <br />at the rear of the Police Station. Chief Marciniak also noted <br />that a partial list of items to be sold include bicycles, <br />television sets, stereo gear, jewelry, lawnmowers, radios, <br />snowblowers, weed -eaters and miscellaneous items. Ms. Humphreys <br />made a motion that the request be approved.
