W <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 5, 1990 <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE AERATION TANK NO. 3 MODIFICATIONS - CONTRACT <br />III - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a letter to <br />be executed by the City and Tenny Pavoni Associates, Inc., 744 <br />West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, confirming <br />Substantial Completion and Acceptable of Aeration Tank No. 3 <br />modifications less Section 7.64 (48" rectangular butterfly <br />valves) on December 13, 1989. The letter also noted that the <br />warranty period for Tank No. 3 will begin on December 13, 1989. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the letter confirming <br />substantial completion and acceptance be approved and executed. <br />Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE MODIFIED CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 - PORTAGE & LINDSEY AND <br />PORTAGE & CALIFORNIA SIGNALIZATION PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that on November 27, 1989, the Board of <br />Public Works approved Change Order No. 2 which indicated an <br />increase of $4,757.00. Subsequent to that approval, it was <br />determined that the Change Order contained errors and a new <br />modified Change Order No. 2 is being submitted at this time. <br />Modified Change Order No. 2 indicates an increase of $5,203.04. <br />It is noted that Trans Tech Electric, Inc., was the contractor <br />for this project. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />modified Change Order be approved and executed. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS: <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OF 52000 <br />LBS. <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT <br />BETWEEN 30000 AND 33000 LBS. <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OF 23000 <br />LBS. <br />Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, Department of Sanitation, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />the following three (3) units for the Department of Sanitation: <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OF 52000 <br />LBS. <br />This vehicle will be used by the Bureau of Solid Waste to hold <br />a 20 yd. trash packer. <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT <br />BETWEEN 30000 AND 33000 LBS. <br />This vehicle will be used by the Bureau of Solid Waste for <br />extra trash pickups. <br />- ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OF 23000 <br />LBS. <br />This vehicle will be used by the Bureau of Sewers maintenance <br />crews. <br />Mr. Kruszynski noted that these three (3) units may be bid as a <br />package or separately. The proposed bid will reflect a trade-in <br />of three (3) separate units. He also noted that these items were <br />approved in the 1990 Solid Waste and Sewers budgets. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 3003 <br />LINCOLNWAY WEST - BRUMMERS RESTAURANT - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Curtis Blakely, Sales <br />Representative, requested permission to install a canopy, over a <br />picture window, on the south side of the building at 3003 <br />Lincolnway West. Mr. Blakely noted that the installation will be <br />over the City sidewalk in front of the building. Submitted with <br />
