M- <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1991 <br />APPROVE NOTICES OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION - CONTRACT II, DIVISION <br />B & C - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted to the Board a Notice of Substantial Completion for <br />Contract II - Division B - Anaerobic Digesters Improvements and a <br />Notice of Substantial Completion for Contract II - Division C - <br />Sludge Dewatering Facilities as submitted by Calumet Construction <br />Corporation, 1247 169th Street, Hammond, Indiana and Tenney <br />Pavoni Associates, Inc., 744 West Washington Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Substantial <br />Completion Certificates be accepted as submitted. Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMITS <br />Ms. Megan Wright, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of <br />Environmental Services, submitted to the Board Wastewater <br />Discharge Permits for Toro Wheel Horse, 515 West Ireland Road, <br />-South Bend, Indiana and The O'Brien Corporation, 2001 West <br />Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, and recommended approval. <br />Ms. Wright noted that these are existing permits which are being <br />renewed. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the permits be approved. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1991 <br />CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the 1991 Concrete Improvement Project. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - STUDEBAKER <br />CORRIDOR - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT & DEMOLITION - PHASE II <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />the Studebaker Corridor Asbestos Abatement and Demolition - Phase <br />II Project. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be <br />approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS - <br />PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COVERAGE <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mrs. C.J. Cartwright-Cowsert, <br />Safety and Risk Manager, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of Proposals for property and casualty insurance <br />coverage with a Proposal opening date of December 9, 1991. Ms. <br />Humphreys made a motion that the request be approved. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of the <br />following requests and he therefore made a motion that the <br />requests be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded <br />the motion which carried and the following requests were <br />referred: <br />r OF C.H.E.E.T.A. TO CONDUCT WALK-A-THON - SEPTEMBER 29. 1991 <br />Ms. Janice Hildabridle, 5002 Cedarwood Lane, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised the Board that with the help of her friends <br />in C.H.E.E.T.A., she is coordinating a Walk-A-Thon to raise <br />funds for Farm Sanctuary, a national non-profit organization <br />located in Watkins Glen, New York, which shelters abused farm <br />
