REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1991 OPENING OF BIDS - DEMOLITION - 1238, 1240, 1242-1248, 1301, 1303, 1305 & 1331 WEST WASHINGTON This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: TOROK EXCAVATING & DEMOLITION, INC. 54195 North Burdette South Bend, Indiana Bid was signed by Mr. Bill Torok, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (50) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $68,000.00 WARNER AND SONS, INC. P.O. Box 87 Elkhart, Indiana 46515 Bid was signed by Mr. Jack Warner, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $58,815.00 RITSCHARD BROTHERS, INC. 1204 West Sample Street South Bend, Indiana 46619 Bid was signed by Mr. Carmelo Ritschard, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $66,833.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department and the Department of Economic Development for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - COLFAX THEATRE In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, recommended that the Board award the bid of Clean Air Systems, Inc., 23349 State Road 23 West, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $38,000.00 for the above referred to project. It is noted that bids for this project were opened by the Board on August 27, 1991. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - SOUTH IRONWOOD DRIVE PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that McIntyre -Jones Construction Company, Inc., 2526 West Sixth Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, has submitted the Project Completion Affidavit for the above referred to project indicating a final cost of $7,495.00. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit was approved and executed.
