-70 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 19. 1991 <br />OF GREAT LAKES COMMUNITY SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR THE <br />DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROPERTY EAST OF BOLAND PARK INTO SOCCER <br />FIELDS <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Angie Jacob, Secretary, Great <br />Lakes Community Soccer Association, 3410 Vine Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, advised that this Association is newly <br />organized and is affiliated with the Indiana Youth Soccer <br />Association which offers competitive soccer in South Bend. <br />The intent of the league is to allow those players with a <br />higher level of soccer skill to play competitively with other <br />comparable players. They currently have a Fall intermediate <br />league in process which plays and practices at Boland Park. <br />The Organization_ would like to propose the development of the <br />property east of Boland Park into more soccer fields. They <br />understand that at one time the FOP used this property and it <br />was turned back to the City. The property is not now being <br />used and with the help of area contractors and their staff, <br />they would like to make this area usable thus making it an <br />area that the community could utilize. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - RIVER <br />CROSSING NO. 1 <br />Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above <br />referred to project. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />In response to questions from the news media concerning this <br />project, Mr. Leszczynski noted that this project entails the <br />Installation of a third sewer line in the river near Holly's <br />Landing which would enlarge the river crossing. He noted that <br />this system serves all of the south side of South Bend. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - DEMOLITION <br />WEST WASHINGTON <br />Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for demolition <br />of structures at 1238, 1240, 1242-1248, 1301, 1303, 1305 and 1331 <br />West Washington Street. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - MIAMI STREET AND BOWEN STREET <br />Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above <br />referred to project. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />_ BIDS - NOT MORE <br />THAN TWENTY (20) USED FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division <br />of Equipment Services, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of not more than twenty (20) used four door sedan <br />.automobiles. These vehicles will be used by several departments <br />whose individual fleets are in need of replacements. Vehicles <br />that are replaced will be required to be parked at the Equipment <br />Services Division and subsequently placed in the City vehicle <br />auction. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be <br />approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE RE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
