57 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 12, 1991 <br />Quotation received on July 22, 1991, for the above referred to <br />project and recommends at this time that ,the Beard reject the <br />Quotation as it is in excess of their budget for this project. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the Quotation be rejected. Mr. Leszczynski seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - MISHAWAKA/LOGAN STREET SIGNALIZATION <br />PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department and Trans <br />Tech Electric have submitted to the Board an Indiana Department <br />of Highways Change Order in regards to the Mishawaka Avenue/Logan <br />Street signalization project indicating an increase of <br />$6,645,05. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Change Order be <br />approved and executed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR RESIDENTIAL <br />DEMOLITION PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded <br />on July 3, 1991, to Bradberry Brothers, Inc., 20061 Dice Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $84,100.00 for the above <br />referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being <br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract <br />was approved and the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and <br />Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />-'TO CLOSE THE 900 BLOCK OF SOUTH 36TH STREET FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />- AUGUST 31, 1991 <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Lisa Greco, 937 South 36th <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 900 block of <br />South 36th Street be closed for the neighborhood 4th Somewhat <br />Annual Hog Roast and Block party on Saturday, August 31, 1991 <br />from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />- TO CLOSE BELMONT, FROM EDDY STREET TO SUNNYSIDE AVENUE. FOR <br />BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 31, 1991 <br />Ms. Kay Parker and Ms. Laure Brunson, 1206 Belmont Avenue, <br />South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application <br />for Use of and Blocking of Access to Public Right -of -Way for <br />a Party or Similar Event, requesting that the 1100-1300 block <br />of Belmont Avenue, from Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue, be <br />closed on Saturday, August 31, 1991 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 <br />p.m. for a block party. <br />- OF A.B.A.T.E. OF INDIANA TO CONDUCT MOTORCYCLE RIDE THROUGH <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND - SEPTEMBER 1, 1991 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Alien Gould, Director, Region <br />I, A.B.A.T.E., of Indiana, 16434 County Road 8, Bristol, <br />Indiana, advised that on Sunday, September 1, 1991, <br />A.B.A.T.E., of Indiana, Region I, will be sponsoring a <br />benefit motorcycle ride for Muscular Dystrophy. Each <br />participant pledges a minimum of $20-00 to ride. All of the <br />proceeds collected from this event are donated to the <br />Muscular Dystrophy Association. At this time, they are <br />requesting the assistance of the City for both permission to <br />bring the ride through the City as in 1990 and for traffic <br />control.
