<br />the industrial discharge permits for the following be approved:
<br />1. ARATEX Services, Inc.
<br />2. Imagineering Enterprises, Inc.
<br />3. New Energy Company of Indiana
<br />4. RACO, Inc.
<br />Ms. Wright noted that these are existing permits which are being
<br />renewed. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the permits
<br />be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - TWELVE (12) DUMP BODIES AND TWELVE (12) HOIST
<br />ASSEMBLIES
<br />In -a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director,
<br />Department of Public Works, advised that the Division of
<br />Equipment Services requests that the Board favorably approve the
<br />recommendation to purchase twelve (12) dump bodies and twelve
<br />(12) hoist assemblies from Deeds Equipment Company, Inc., 8015
<br />East 45th Street, Box 26036, Lawrence, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$3,392.00 each for the Fontaine dump assembly. It is noted that
<br />bids for this equipment were opened by the Board on June 3,
<br />1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mrs. DeClercq
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES
<br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak
<br />advised that the bids submitted to the Board for car washes on
<br />August 4, 1991, have been reviewed by the Police Department.
<br />Hi -Speed submitted a bid for full service car washes and
<br />-motorcycle washes. The Department recommends that the City
<br />retain their services in these areas. Hi -Speed offers these
<br />services at two (2) locations at 609 East LaSalle, South Bend,
<br />Indiana and 2615 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana. The City
<br />will not utilize Hi -Speed for wet wash only car washes.
<br />Additionally, the Department recommends that the bid of Don's Gas
<br />and Car Wash, located at 1836 South Michigan Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, be accepted. This is for wet wash only, car washes.
<br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendtions be accepted
<br />and the bids be ,awarded as indicated above. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION/APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - WAYNE STREET/ST.
<br />JOSEPH STREET PARKING GARAGE AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATION
<br />Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, recommended
<br />that the Board award the Quotation in the amount of $8,305.00 as
<br />$ubmitted by the Ideal Consolidated, Inc., on August 5, 1991, for
<br />the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell indicated that the
<br />other Quotation was received from Herrman and Goetz at $9,360.00
<br />with a voluntary deduct alternate of $780.00.
<br />Mr. Littrell also submitted to the Board the appropriate
<br />Construction Contract indicating the Contract amount of
<br />$8,305.00.
<br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />«ccepted and the Quotation be awarded to Ideal Consolidated and
<br />that the appropriate Construction Contract be approved and
<br />executed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />REJECT QUOTATION - CLEANING AND DISPOSAL OF PIT WASTES -
<br />TORRINGTON WEST FACILITY
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Pamela C. Meyer, Program Manager,
<br />Urban Enterprise Association, 1200 County -City Building, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, advised that she has reviewed the one (1)
