25 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 12, 1991 <br />Club at 12:00 noon. Submitted with the request was a route <br />of the ride and the intersections that will be in need of <br />traffic control. <br />- OF KIDS' KINGDOM TO CLOSE WALL STREET, FROM GREENLAWN TO <br />WEST OF THE POTAWATOMI PARK DRIVE, DURING CONSTRUCTION - <br />SEPTEMBER 11-15, 1991 <br />Mr. John H. Boruff, General Coordinator, Kids' Kingdom, <br />Potawatomi Creative Playground Project, Inc., 120 West <br />LaSalle Avenue, Suite 500, South Bend, Indiana, advised that <br />the construction of Kids' Kingdom multi -level wooden <br />playground is scheduled for September 11-15, 1991 in <br />Potawatomi Park. It has been determined that it would be to <br />the advantage of the construction process to temporarily <br />close Wall Street from Greenlawn to just west of the <br />Potawatomi Park drive that runs through Potawatomi Park in <br />the vicinity of the zoo. In essence, through traffic through <br />the Park will be on the north park drive but not on the noted <br />segment of Wall Street. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WOODCOX BUILDING CONTRACTOR, INC. TO OCCUPY <br />THE E/W ALLEY DIRECTLY SOUTH OF 702 NORTH MICHIGAN STREET FOR A <br />PERIOD OF FOUR (4) TO SIX (6) MONTHS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on July 29, 1991, and approval is - <br />recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />request be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FILING OF RECOMMENDATION - REQUEST OF <br />TO <br />INSTALL TWO (2) AWNINGS AT 1603 SOUTH MAIN STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to request, which <br />was submitted to the Board on July 22, 1991, was reviewed by the <br />necessary City departments and bureaus. At this time the <br />Engineering Department advises that the canopies to be installed <br />will not encroach into the public right-of-way and therefore no <br />action by the Board of Public Works is necessary. For the <br />record, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted for filing. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF IUSB TO CLOSE NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD, BETWEEN <br />VETERAN'S MEMORIAL PARK AND 20TH STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH 25TH <br />ANNIVERSARY FESTIVITIES - AUGUST 30, 1991 <br />On August 5, 1991, the Board received a request from IUSB to <br />-close Northside Boulevard, between Veteran's Memorial Park and <br />20th Street, in conjunction with the University's 25th <br />Anniversary festivities and the request was referred to the <br />necessary City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. At this time, the Board has been advised that <br />approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion <br />that the request be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1.
