REGULAR MEETING JULY 29, 1991 Mr. Zubler further noted that Magnasync Company bid three (3) Dual Deck 40 Channel recorder/reproducters and one (1) single deck reproducer with no rerecorder and only listed three (3) of the supplies and accessories which are in the Specifications as "Stall be provided." These three (3) items address ten (10) cassette tapes, one (1) headphone $57.00 and one (1) foot control at 1296.25 and failed to include four (4) costly items on this list. Magnasync total on their equipment list is $65,651.85. Therefore, Mr. Zubler recommended Dictaphone as the most compliant with the specifications and the lowest total bid. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid of Dictaphone, as outlined above, be approved and awarded. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. REQUESTS REFERRED: Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following requests were referred to the necessary bureaus and departments for review and recommendation: L OF HOPE RESCUE MISSION TO PLACE BICYCLE RACK ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 532 SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET In a letter to the Board, Mr. Richard L. Carlson, Administrative Assistant, Hope Rescue Mission, 532 South Michigan Street, south Bend, Indiana, advised that the Mission has clients that use bicycles for transportation, especially those that come for meals. As they do not have a secure place to park or store bicycles at this point, they inquired whether it would be possible to place a bicycle rack on the public sidewalk in front of the Mission at 532 South Michigan Street. OF WOODCOX BUILDING CONTRACTORS, INC. TO BLOCK EAST/WEST ALLEY DIRECTLY SOUTH OF 702 NORTH MICHIGAN STREET FOR A PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONTHS Mr. Kenneth J. Little, President, Woodcox Building Contractor, Inc., 51175 Prescott Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised that they are in the process of starting an addition for Radiology Services, located at 702 North Michigan Street and they are requesting permission to temporarily barricade the east/west alley, directly south of this property. construction shall be on -going for a period of four (4) to six (6) months and they will be generating standard Construction debris and virtually have no other area to store portable dumpsters. Additionally, they will need room to set Morgan scaffolding, which is larger than five (5) feet and barricading the alley would help assure the safety of construction employees. Mr. Little .stated that they have obtained permission from Memorial Hospital to set temporary barricades in the alley, leaving their exist open from the parking lot directly south of the alley. Mr. Little submitted with the request a map and diagram of the area referred to above. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATION - CONTROL, INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FACILITY PLAN - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of Statements of Qualification for consulting and engineering services for a control, information and communication system Facility Plan. These Statements of Qualification would be obtained from professional engineering companies familiar with projects such as this.
