REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 29, 1991 <br />for the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) and other good and valuable <br />consideration, and by way of warranty deed from the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, shall be, and hereby is, approved. <br />2. That the transfer of the real property shall be <br />effectuated by warranty deed executed by the Mayor of South Bend <br />and attested to by the Clerk of the City of South Bend. <br />3. Leszczynski <br />s/Katherine Humphreys <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT <br />The following Community Development Contract was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & BUSINESS ASSISTANCE <br />WEST WASHINGTON PUBLIC WORKS ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this project is to improve West <br />Washington Street particularly in the 1200 and 1300 blocks <br />with street, curb and sidewalk construction/reconstruction, <br />street lights, alley improvements and sod and tree <br />plantings. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$100,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above referred to Contract was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES OF HEARING OFFICER - HUMAN RIGHTS <br />COMMISSION <br />Ms. Cynthia Love -Bush, Executive Director, Human Rights <br />Commission, advised that the Agreement which she submitted to the <br />Board for approval is for the services of Mr. Bruce A. Jefferson, <br />Attorney at Law, as a Hearing Officer for the Human Rights <br />Commission. Mr. Jefferson will conduct Public Hearings for <br />probable cause as well as recommending orders of his findings. <br />The Agreement, for the period being August 1, 1991 to December <br />31, 1991, indicates that the Hearing Officer shall be compensated <br />the amount of four hundred dollars ($400.00) per case assigned <br />for Public Hearing. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the <br />Agreement be approved and executed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - THREE (3) TRANSPORT 40 TRACK MAGNETIC TAPE <br />RECORDER/REPRODUCERS AND ONE (1) PORTABLE COMPANION <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Glenn Zubler, Director of <br />Communication, advised that after reviewing the response of the <br />two (2) bidding recorder vendors, he found that the Dictaphone <br />9403, 40 Channel triple deck recorder/reproducer and the 9400, 40 <br />Channel reproducer are in total compliance with the bid <br />specifications. In the specifications, under supplies and <br />accessories, the City lists seven (7) items and the quantity of <br />these items as "Shall be Provided." The total wholesale value of <br />these items range between $9,500.00 and $10,000.00 and must be <br />considered when selecting the recorder vendor. The Dictaphone <br />Company included each of these items in their response for a <br />total purchase price (including installation) of $43,390.00. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
