REGULAR MEETING JULY 29, 1991 for the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) and other good and valuable consideration, and by way of warranty deed from the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be, and hereby is, approved. 2. That the transfer of the real property shall be effectuated by warranty deed executed by the Mayor of South Bend and attested to by the Clerk of the City of South Bend. 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its adoption. ADOPTED this 29th day of July, 1991. CITY OF SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS s/John E. Leszczynski s/Katherine Humphreys APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT The following Community Development Contract was presented to the Board for approval: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & BUSINESS ASSISTANCE WEST WASHINGTON PUBLIC WORKS ACTIVITY The targeted goal for this project is to improve West Washington Street particularly in the 1200 and 1300 blocks with street, curb and sidewalk construction/reconstruction, street lights, alley improvements and sod and tree plantings. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $100,000.00. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above referred to Contract was approved and executed. APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES OF HEARING OFFICER - HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION Ms. Cynthia Love -Bush, Executive Director, Human Rights Commission, advised that the Agreement which she submitted to the Board for approval is for the services of Mr. Bruce A. Jefferson, Attorney at Law, as a Hearing Officer for the Human Rights Commission. Mr. Jefferson will conduct Public Hearings for probable cause as well as recommending orders of his findings. The Agreement, for the period being August 1, 1991 to December 31, 1991, indicates that the Hearing Officer shall be compensated the amount of four hundred dollars ($400.00) per case assigned for Public Hearing. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Agreement be approved and executed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - THREE (3) TRANSPORT 40 TRACK MAGNETIC TAPE RECORDER/REPRODUCERS AND ONE (1) PORTABLE COMPANION In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Glenn Zubler, Director of Communication, advised that after reviewing the response of the two (2) bidding recorder vendors, he found that the Dictaphone 9403, 40 Channel triple deck recorder/reproducer and the 9400, 40 Channel reproducer are in total compliance with the bid specifications. In the specifications, under supplies and accessories, the City lists seven (7) items and the quantity of these items as "Shall be Provided." The total wholesale value of these items range between $9,500.00 and $10,000.00 and must be considered when selecting the recorder vendor. The Dictaphone Company included each of these items in their response for a total purchase price (including installation) of $43,390.00. 1 1
