REGULAR MEETING JULY 15. 1991 <br />HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />EMERGENCY REPAIR <br />The targeted goals for this activity are to make emergency <br />housing repairs to thirty-five (35) residential units <br />occupied by low/moderate income (less than 800 of median) <br />households. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$70,000.00 <br />ADDENDUM I <br />HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />HOUSING REHABILITATION FUND ACTIVITY <br />Addendum I adds $75,000.00 to this activity and increases <br />goals to twelve (12) leases and rehabilitated residential <br />units. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above referred to Contract was approved and <br />executed. Additionally, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Addendum as submitted <br />was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE FIXED UNIT COST CONTRACT - WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />OF NORTHERN INDIANA <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Mr. Doug Johnson, Workforce <br />Development Services, submitted to the Board for approval the <br />Legal Services Contract whereby the grantor, Workforce <br />Development Services of Northern Indiana, will retain the <br />services of a Deputy City Attorney for advice and assistance on <br />legal matters relating to the conduct of the WDS program. These <br />services, up to a maximum of six (6) hours per month, will be <br />available fora fixed fee of $500.00 per month ($6,000 annual <br />obligation) during the July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 <br />period. Legal advisement time exceeding the six (6) hours per <br />month covered by the $500.00 monthly allocation may be available <br />at a rate agreed to and specified by the WDS Board of Directors. <br />Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Contract as <br />submitted be approved and executed. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT SUBCONTRACT AGREEMENTS <br />Mr. Ted Leverman, Assistant Director, Bureau of Housing, advised <br />that the City has received an Emergency Shelter Grant in the <br />amount of $65,000.00 from the U.S. Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development to provide shelter and related services to the <br />homeless. <br />Therefore submitted to the Board for approval were Emergency <br />Shelter Grant Subcontract Agreements with the following agencies: <br />1. Council of Providers of Services to the Homeless <br />for the operation of the Center for the Homeless - <br />$25,000.00 <br />2. Youth Services Bureau of St. Joseph County for the <br />operation of Safe Station - $11,750.00 <br />3. YWCA of St. Joseph County for the operation of the <br />Women's Shelter - $17,000.00 <br />4. St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force for the operation of a <br />. home for homeless AIDS victims - $5,000.00 <br />5. Bureau of Housing for homeless prevention activities - <br />$3,000.00 <br />
