REGULAR MEETING JUNE 17, 1991 - OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 1510 SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET (PDH OFFICE PRODUCTS) In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert L. Hinsch, Sales Representative, City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a back -lit canopy at PDH Office Products, 1510 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Hinsch submitted with the request a drawing of the canopy indicating its size and dimensions. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the above requests be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND URBAN ENTERPRISE ASSOCIATION THAT THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ACT AS AGENT FOR PURPOSES OF SOLICITING QUOTATIONS AND AWARDING AND ADMINISTERING A CONTRACT FOR THE CLEANING AND DISPOSAL OF PIT WASTES FROM THE TORRINGTON FACILITY In a letter to the Board, Ms. Pamela Meyer, UEA Program Director, 1200 County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, advised that at its meeting held on June 12, 1991, the South Bend Urban Enterprise Association, Inc., voted to authorize the Board of Public Works to act as its agent for purposes of soliciting quotations and awarding and administering a contract for the cleaning and disposal of pit wastes from the former Torrington_ facility that the UEA has recently purchased. She indicated that her letter shall serve as the formal request of the UEA that the Board accept this request and designation and proceed, at the appropriate time, with the solicitations of quotations. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUESTS: Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the following requests and approval is recommended. Motions approving the requests are as follows: - REQUEST TO ST.. JOSEPH COUNTY LIBRARY TO INSTALL TWELVE (12) DIRECTIONAL SIGNS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request of the St. Joseph County Library as received by the Board on August 27, 1990 was approved. REQUEST OF KIDS KLUB FROM CHIPPEWA HEIGHTS WESLEYAN CHURCH TO CONDUCT PARADE - JULY 20, 1991 Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above referred to request, which was submitted to the Board on June 10, 1991, was approved. REQUEST TO CLOSE WILBER, FROM MAR UETTE TO PORTAGE, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY -,JULY 4, 1991 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request to close Wilber Street for a block party, as submitted on June 3, 1991, was approved.
