REGULAR MEETING APRIL 8, 1991 have reviewed the above referred to requests which were submitted on April 1, 1991 and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request to close North St. Peter Street, from Colfax to Washington, be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. Additionally, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the request to close Kalorama, from Hill Street to North St. Louis Boulevard, be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap Parking Space LOCATION: 624 LaPorte REMARKS: Requested by Mrs. Comer 2. NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking - East Side REVISED TO: One Way North Bound LOCATION: Lawndale - Lincolnway West to LaPorte 3. NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking - West Side REVISED TO: One Way South Bound LOCATION: Diamond - Lincolnway West to LaPorte APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, advised that the Department has reviewed the Rubbish and Garbage Removal license application of Mr. Alexander Rowell, 1248 South Bendix, South Bend, Indiana. Mrs. DeClercq noted that the Department reviewed this application because in the past there have been some difficulties in that Mr. Rowell parked the garbage truck on either the street or on residential property. At this time Mr. Rowell has provided evidence to the Department that he has secured an appropriate parking place for his vehicle. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq recommended the approval of the license application with the stipulation that Mr. Rowell's truck not be parked in a residential area and that he park his truck at 18311 East Edison Road. Mrs. DeClercq stated that the license issued should stipulate that if Mr. Rowell's truck is parked at his home or in any residential district, the license will be revoked. It was noted that an inspection of the truck to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and the applicant was found to be in compliance. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the application be approved with the above outlined stipulation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has recommended that the Excavation Bond for Anderson Backhoe Service, In., 1502 North Illinois, South Bend, Indiana, be released effective April 3, 1992. Additionally, it is recommended that the Contractor's Bond for Jim Ready Concrete be approved effective April 8, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendations be accepted and the bonds be released and/or approved as indicated above. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
