The metal
used in the
grinding area, tub wall and tub
floor is
thicker.
2. One inch
(1") swing hammers and discs vs. one-half inch
(1/211) swing
hammers
and discs.
3. Indirect
Hammer Mill
Drive - Impact and vibration is
absorbed
by the belts
not the clutch and engine.
4. The overall weight of this machine indicates a sturdier
more reliable machine.
Mr. Kruszynski further advised that this piece of equipment will
be used by the Department of Sanitation, Organic Resources
Facility, for disposal of yard waste.
Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be
accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the
motion which carried.
AWARD BID - ACCESS ROAD FOR MAPLE LANE RESERVE CENTER
In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Bob Allen, Manager, Bureau of
Public Construction, advised that he has reviewed the bids
received by the Board on March 25, 1991 for the above referred to
Project along with Cole Associates, Inc., and at this time
recommends that the Board award the bid of Northern Indiana
Construction Company, Inc., P.O. Box 1333, Mishawaka, Indiana, in
the amount of $90,992.23. Mr. Allen noted that this bid was
below the Engineers Estimate of $95,420.50 for this project.
Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the bid be
awarded. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
In response to a question from the news media, Mr. Leszczynski
advised that this access road is just the beginning of the work
to be done with the Maple Lane Reserve Center.
