REGULAR MEETING APRIL 1. 1991 <br />that the property listed on the attached sheet, consisting of <br />approximately seventy-three (73) vehicles, four (4) dump beds and <br />nine (9) miscellaneous pieces of equipment, is unfit for the <br />purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the <br />City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, that the items listed are no longer <br />needed by the City, are unfit for the purpose for which they were <br />intended and have an estimated total value of One Thousand <br />Dollars ($1,000.00) or more. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be sold at a public <br />auction, conducted by an auctioneer licensed under Indiana Code <br />25-6.1, after advertising the property for sale, in accordance <br />with Indiana Code 5-3-1. <br />ADOPTED this 1st day of April, 1991. <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR PROVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that an Agreement between. the Board of <br />Public Works of the City of South Bend and the Youth Services <br />Bureau, Inc., has been submitted to the Board for approval and <br />execution. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this is a renewal of a <br />previous Contract. It is noted that the Agreement indicates that <br />the City shall retain the YSB to provide services to the City's <br />youth and their families as outlined in the Agreement. As <br />compensation for these .services the City agrees to pay YSB fifty <br />thousand dollars ($50,000.00). It is noted that the term of this <br />Agreement is January 1, 1991 through and until December 31, <br />1991. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Agreement <br />be approved and executed. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />°APPROVE CONTRACT FOR ANIMAL CONTROL & SHELTER SERVICES - HUMANE <br />SOCIETY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a <br />Contract for Animal Control & Shelter Services between the City <br />of South Bend and the St. Joseph County Humane Society for the <br />period March 1, 1991 to December 31, 1991 in the amount of <br />$138,027.30 to provide animal control and shelter services for <br />the City of South Bend. <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised the Board that the Humane Society and the <br />City have agreed on a Contract for the remainder of 1991 for <br />animal control services and this document has already been signed <br />by the President of the Humane Society Board. Therefore, the <br />Contract is being submitted to the Board today for appropriate <br />action. Mrs. DeClercq noted that the contract amount does <br />reflect an increase over the 1990 amount. Mrs. DeClercq <br />therefore made a motion that the Contract be approved and <br />executed.
