REGULAR MEETING MARCH 25, 1991 E 1 1 III, Lot #153 from Society Bank for the account of Cross Creek, Inc., 828 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. It is noted that Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit No. S-8846 is in the amount of $3,800.00 and expires on July 12, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Letter of Credit be accepted and approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - STREET DEPARTMENT MATERIALS In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bill Penn, Director, Division of Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for Street Department materials. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this equipment will replace current equipment which is antiquated. Therefore Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. REQUEST TO ACQUIRE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1307-11 W. WASHINGTON AND 106-110 NORTH WALNUT - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Norris, Project Manager, West Washington -Chapin Revitalization Project, Department of Economic Development, requested that the Board transfer ownership of the the City -owned lots located at 1307-11 West Washington and 106-110 North Walnut to the Redevelopment Commission. Ms. Norris noted that both properties are within the West Washington -Chapin Development Area and are needed to complete the assemblage of land for new development along the 1200 and 1300 blocks of West Washington as is recommended by the Comprehensive Plan for the area. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT PUBLIC AUCTION TO DISPOSE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY - POLICE DEPARTMENT Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak requested permission to dispose of unclaimed bicycles and other unclaimed property at a Public Auction to be held on May 18, 1991 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until all items are sold. Chief Marciniak noted that this is the first Auction of the year and will be held, rain or shine, in the Street Department garage at the rear of the South Bend Police Station. Chief Marciniak further noted that a partial list of items to be sold are bicycles, television sets, stereo gear, jewelry, lawnmowers, radios, tools, typewriters, generator, clothing and miscellaneous items. Receipts received from the sale will be forwarded to the proper accounts of the City. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
