REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 25, 1991 <br />E <br />1 <br />1 <br />III, Lot #153 from Society Bank for the account of Cross Creek, <br />Inc., 828 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. <br />It is noted that Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit No. S-8846 <br />is in the amount of $3,800.00 and expires on July 12, 1991. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Letter of Credit be <br />accepted and approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - STREET <br />DEPARTMENT MATERIALS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bill Penn, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for Street Department materials. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, <br />the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE <br />COMMUNICATION SYSTEM <br />Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested that <br />the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above <br />referred to equipment. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this equipment <br />will replace current equipment which is antiquated. Therefore <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST TO ACQUIRE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1307-11 W. WASHINGTON <br />AND 106-110 NORTH WALNUT - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Norris, Project Manager, <br />West Washington -Chapin Revitalization Project, Department of <br />Economic Development, requested that the Board transfer ownership <br />of the the City -owned lots located at 1307-11 West Washington and <br />106-110 North Walnut to the Redevelopment Commission. Ms. Norris <br />noted that both properties are within the West Washington -Chapin <br />Development Area and are needed to complete the assemblage of <br />land for new development along the 1200 and 1300 blocks of West <br />Washington as is recommended by the Comprehensive Plan for the <br />area. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request <br />be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT PUBLIC AUCTION TO DISPOSE OF UNCLAIMED <br />PROPERTY - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak requested permission to dispose <br />of unclaimed bicycles and other unclaimed property at a Public <br />Auction to be held on May 18, 1991 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. <br />or until all items are sold. Chief Marciniak noted that this is <br />the first Auction of the year and will be held, rain or shine, in <br />the Street Department garage at the rear of the South Bend Police <br />Station. Chief Marciniak further noted that a partial list of <br />items to be sold are bicycles, television sets, stereo gear, <br />jewelry, lawnmowers, radios, tools, typewriters, generator, <br />clothing and miscellaneous items. Receipts received from the <br />sale will be forwarded to the proper accounts of the City. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved.
