REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 18, 1991 <br />REJECT QUOTATION - ASBESTOS REMOVAL AT OSCO DRUG STORE <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Bob Allen, Manager, Bureau of <br />Public Construction, advised that he has reviewed the Quotation <br />received by the Board on February 4, 1991 for the asbestos <br />abatement of the Osco Drug store located downtown and as only one <br />(1) Quotation was received and that Quotation exceeds the <br />engineers estimate for this project, he recommends that the <br />Quotation be rejected. Mr. Allen noted that new Quotations will <br />be sought for this project. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the Quotation be rejected. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) Rubbish and <br />Garbage Removal license applications have been received, reviewed <br />and recommended for approval: <br />1. Jessie J. Love <br />309 South Iowa Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. Grayson R. Warren, Jr. <br />220 Seebirt Place <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and the applicants were found <br />to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />KEN'S DISCOUNT SALES, INC. <br />Mr. Ken Parritt <br />2802 West Western Avenue <br />General merchandise - new & used <br />R & R USED APPLIANCES <br />Ms. Patricia Torres <br />1518 Mishawaka Avenue <br />Used merchandise <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Excavation Bond for Shambaugh & Son, Inc., <br />P.O. Box 1287, Fort Wayne, Indiana, be released effective <br />February 18, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bond be released. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND <br />NECESSITY FOR THE OPERATION OF TAXICABS - J.J.R.
