REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 28, 1991 The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice of Public Hearing which was published in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News. Mr. Leszczynski noted for the record that on December 26, 1990, the Board filed an appraisal as submitted by B. David Huntington and Associates, Inc., 1520 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, indicating that the value of the property is within a range from twenty one thousand five hundred dollars ($21,500.00) to twenty four thousand dollars ($24,000.00). Additionally, the Board is in receipt today of an appraisal from Ms. Cleo Hickey, Downtown Project Manager, Department of Economic Development, indicating that the property value is within a range from nineteen thousand nine hundred and eighty dollars ($19,980.00) to twenty seven thousand five hundred forty dollars ($27,540.00). Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of one (1) bid received from Mr. James P. Locker, Locker Realty, 527 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, Authorized Agent for James E. Kalka, Sr. and Etha M. Kalka, 1302 Riding Mall, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $24,000.00. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that at this time the Board will conduct the required Public Hearing on this matter. There being no one present wishing to address the Board regarding this matter, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the bid submitted by Mr. James Locker on behalf of James E. and Etha M. Kalka in the amount of $24,000.00 be accepted and approved subject to Common Council approval. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. OPENING OF BIDS - GAS SPHERES PURGING AND INSPECTION - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT This was the date.set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly read: HARTFORD STEAM BOILER 300 South Riverside Plaza 700N Chicago, Illinois 60606 Bid was signed by Mr. Dan Jimenez, Unit Manager, Non - Collusion was in order and a five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: Item 1 Purging the Gas Spheres: Lump Sum Price: $10,000.00 Item 2 Inspection of Gas Spheres Lump Sum Price: $50,000.00 and Gas Piping: Item 3 Installation of Valves: Lump Sum Price: $10,000.00 Total Lump Sum Price (1,2 & 3): $70,000.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above bid was referred to the Bureau of Wastewater for review and recommendtion.
