�37 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 26, 1992 <br />Joseph's Medical Center, has fulfilled Resolution requirements <br />and the appropriate Agreement, for the above referred to events, <br />has been submitted for approval. It is noted that on August 24, <br />1992, the Board of Public Works approved the date for this event <br />subject to the sponsor meeting all Resolution requirements. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. <br />Caldwell and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - DE-ICING <br />MATERIALS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sam Hensley, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for the following materials: <br />1. Sodium Chloride 12,000 tons <br />2. Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons <br />3. Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 5,000 tons <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 1006 E. WAYNE <br />- REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Joni Aldridge, 1006 East Wayne <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that she is disabled and <br />would like the parking space in front of her residence designated <br />as a handicapped parking space. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion <br />that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments <br />and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. Mueller seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS AND READVERTISE - TWO (2) TANDEM <br />AXLE TRUCKS WITH TRADE-INS <br />Mr. Matthew L. Chlebowski, Interim Director, Division of <br />Equipment Services, advised members of the Board that he <br />recommends that the Board reject all bids received on September <br />21, 1992, for two (2) tandem axle dump trucks as there were <br />several errors in the specifications that were not found until <br />after the bids were received. Therefore, Mr. Chlebowski asked <br />that the Board reject all bids previously received and approve <br />the readvertisment for this equipment pursuant to new revised <br />specifications. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the bids <br />received on September 21, 1992, for the tandem axle dump trucks <br />be rejected and the equipment be readvertised. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF RILEY HIGH SCHOOL TO CONDUCT PARADE - OCTOBER 31 1992 <br />- OF NORTHERN INDIANA CAB DRIVERS ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT <br />WALK - OCTOBER 29, 1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the request of Riley High School to <br />conduct a parade on October 31, 1992, which was submitted to the <br />Board on October 5, 1992, has been reviewed by City departments <br />and bureaus and recommended for approval. <br />Additionally, Mr. Michael Alford, Vice -President, Northern <br />Indiana Cab Drivers Association, 19844 1/2 Hildebrand Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a Walk on <br />Thursday, October 29, 1992 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Alford <br />stated that participation is open to anyone who has been a victim <br />of violence either directly or indirectly through family members <br />or friends. The Walk will begin at the west end of the <br />county courthouse, proceed down Lafayette Boulevard south to <br />Western Avenue, Western Avenue east across the Jefferson bridge <br />to Howard Park where a brief candlelight ceremony will be held at <br />
