Mr. Chelbowski stated that the bid did
not meet specifications in thirteen (13) areas with the main
problems being tractor size, conveyor, warranty, auger system and
technical training. Mr. Chelbowski stated that the basic machine
provided in the bid was too small. Following is the complete
list of problems with the bid:
1. Main screed extentions do not meet specifications.
2. Tractor size is for the standard 8' screed. Bigger screed
would cause traction problems when paving City streets
with tack on them. Also, slat conveyor system is only 12"
wide restricting amount of material to rear screws.
3. Augers 14" instead of 16" as required on City
specifications.
4. Paver not equipped with power auger extensions as required
on City specifications.
5. Engine horse -power not to City specifications.
6. No sonar control package on AP800 Cat auger conveyor
system as required on City specifications.
7. Extendible screed is wider (19.611) than called for on City
specifications creating weight and traction problems.
8. No truck hitch on quote. This is approximately a
$7,000.00 option, as required on City specifications.
1
1
1
