REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 19, 1992 ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 40-1992 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Di11on, Director, Division of Environmental Services, advised that the Wastewater Treatment Plant has in storage approximately nine thousand (9,000) sanitaire coarse bubble air diffusers. These were left over after their aeration system was retrofitted with fine bubble diffusers during their recent upgrade. They would like to declare nine hundred (900) of these diffusers as obsolete which will allow them to'dispose of them at market value. The total value of these nine hundred (900) diffusers is less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). The remaining diffusers will more than meet their future needs. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved and the appropriate - Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 40-1992 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 40-1992 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: NINE HUNDRED (900) SANITAIRE COARSE BUBBLE AIR DIFFUSERS WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT) WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer needed by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which they were intended and have an estimated total value of less than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property may be sold at a public or private sale without advertising. However, if the personal property is worthless, it may be demolished or junked. Beug and Associates, 2591 North Summit Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to provide a Management Development Program.
