REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 19, 1992 <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 40-1992 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Di11on, Director, Division <br />of Environmental Services, advised that the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant has in storage approximately nine thousand (9,000) <br />sanitaire coarse bubble air diffusers. These were left over <br />after their aeration system was retrofitted with fine bubble <br />diffusers during their recent upgrade. They would like to <br />declare nine hundred (900) of these diffusers as obsolete which <br />will allow them to'dispose of them at market value. The total <br />value of these nine hundred (900) diffusers is less than five <br />thousand dollars ($5,000.00). The remaining diffusers will more <br />than meet their future needs. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the request be approved and the appropriate - <br />Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution <br />No. 40-1992 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 40-1992 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following property is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />NINE HUNDRED (900) SANITAIRE COARSE BUBBLE AIR DIFFUSERS <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT) <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, that the items listed above are no <br />longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which <br />they were intended and have an estimated total value of less than <br />Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property may be sold at a <br />public or private sale without advertising. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted to the Board a Proposal and Contract between the City <br />and Thomas R. Beug and Associates, 2591 North Summit Avenue, <br />Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to provide a Management Development <br />Program. Mr. Dillon advised that the training provided for in <br />the Proposal will be for the managers of the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant. Mr. Dillon further advised that Phase I of the training <br />
