No fuel gauge or air cleaner restriction gauge as required <br />on City specifications <br />11. No mention on quote of any device to lift rear of machine <br />or augers for loading and unloading as outlined in City <br />specifications <br />12. Warranty is not as required on City specifications. <br />13. No mention on bid about technical training or on the job <br />inspection by a specialist on the Sob site. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the above bids be <br />awarded. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - TRUSS PAINTING - COVELESKI REGIONAL STADIUM <br />Mr. Bob Allen, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, advised <br />members of the Board that he has reviewed -the three (3) bids <br />received on October 12, 1992, for the above referred to project <br />and recommends at this time that the Board award the low bid of <br />Harmony Painting, 51855 Mayflower Road, South Bend, Indiana <br />in the amount of $36,430.00. <br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller informed members of the <br />Board that for the record she received a letter from the <br />International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, advising <br />that Harmony Painting is not a union company. She stated that <br />for the record she would note that this award is subject to the <br />prevailing wages which were part of the bid specifications and <br />which Harmony Painting will have to pay. Therefore,'Mrs. Mueller <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be <br />awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE STREETS IN CONJUNCTION WITH 1992 CITY OLYMPICS - <br />OCTOBER 23, 1992 <br />Ms. Kathleen J. Dempsey, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, informed members of the Board that the City is <br />planning an event at Coveleski Stadium as a finale to the 1992 <br />City Olympics in support of the United Way Campaign. As co-chair <br />for the campaign, she requests permission to block otf the <br />following streets on Friday evening, October 23,- 1992, from <br />5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in order to accomplish a bicycle and <br />running event: <br />Lafayette south of Monroe <br />Lafayette south of South Street <br />South Street at Taylor and <br />Taylor Street at Monroe Circle <br />It is noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, City <br />Attorney's office and the Police Department have reviewed this <br />request and recommend approval. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />PETITION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESTRICTED RESIDENTIAL PARKING <br />ZONE - 802 NORTH BROOKFIELD TO THE CORNER OF BROOKFIELD & L.W.W. <br />(EAST SIDE ONLY) - REFERRED <br />Mr. John A. Bowlds, 1818 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, <br />submitted to the Board a Petition for the Establishment of a <br />Residential Parking Zone from 802 North Brookfield to the corner <br />of Brookfield at Lincolnway West on the east side only. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that this Petition be referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting in order that a traffic study can <br />be conducted. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />
