REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 31, 1992 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be sold at a public auction, conducted by an auctioneer licensed under Indiana Code 25-6-1; after advertising the property for sale in accordance with Indiana Code 5-3-1. Parmerlee, Clerk ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 35-1992 - TRADE-IN OF OBSOLETE VEHICLES (POLICE DEPARTMENT) In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak advised that the Department wishes to trade two (2) 1991 Harley Davidson police motorcycles for two (2) Harley Davidson 1993 Harley Davidson police motorcycles, FLHT-P cycles. This is to be an even exchange and no money will be exchanged. This will be accomplished through McDaniels Harley Davidson Sales, 1010 Lincolnway East, South Bend, Indiana. Chief Marciniak further explained that they will trade-in the two (2) 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycles for two (2) Harley Davidson motorcycles of the same model. The City will remove and install the radio box and strobe lights and McDaniels will prepare and deliver the new motorcycles, which will be equipped with chrome case engines. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the appropriate Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 35-1992 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 35-1992 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY ON PROPERTY OF SIMILAR NATURE WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the following described property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and should be traded in or exchanged for property of a similar nature: TWO (2) 1991 HARLEY DAVIDSON POLICE MOTORCYCLES UNIT #727 - VIN. #1HD1DAL13MY508892 UNIT #729 - VIN. #1HD1DAL10MY505741 WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the following described property is of a similar nature to the above -described property and should be acquired, with the above -described property being traded -in as an even exchange for the following property: TWO (2) HARLEY DAVIDSON 1993 POLICE MOTORCYCLES FLHT-P CYCLES VIN. #1HD1DAL19PY500705 VIN. #1HD1DAL11PY500276 WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full reduction in the purchase price of property of similar nature.
