REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 31, 1992 E for disposal of personal property which is no longer needed by the City and which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of'South Bend that service revolver Serial No. 248K412 a ..357 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, is no longer needed by the City and is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated fair market value of less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500,.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of and removed from the City inventory. ADOPTED this 31st day of August 1992. BOARD,OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk ADOPT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division of Equipment Services, requested that the Board declare obsolete one hundred three (103) used vehicles from the City's vehicle fleet. In addition, Mr. St. Clair stated that there will be tools and various other small shop items for sale. Mr. St. Clair noted that it is anticipated that a Public Auction will be held on October 3, 1992 to dispose of this property. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved and the appropriate Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 34-1992 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 34-1992 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY WHEREAS, it has been determined by the South Bend Board of Public Works that the property listed on the attached sheet, consisting of approximately eighty-nine (89) vehicles, one (1) recycler, seven (7) dump beds, six (6) street sweepers, two (2) motorcycles and four (4) jack hammers, together with miscellaneous tools and other small shop items_ not listed on the attached sheet, are obsolete or unfit for the purpose for which they were intended and are no longer needed by the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes a procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer needed by the City. - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the items listed are no longer needed by the City, are obsolete or unfit for the purpose for which they were intended, and have an estimated value of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) or more.
