REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 31, 1992 <br />E <br />for disposal of personal property which is no longer needed by <br />the City and which is unfit for the purpose for which it was <br />intended; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of'South Bend that service revolver Serial <br />No. 248K412 a ..357 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, is no <br />longer needed by the City and is unfit for the purpose for <br />which it was intended and has an estimated fair market value <br />of less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500,.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of <br />and removed from the City inventory. <br />ADOPTED this 31st day of August 1992. <br />BOARD,OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division <br />of Equipment Services, requested that the Board declare obsolete <br />one hundred three (103) used vehicles from the City's vehicle <br />fleet. In addition, Mr. St. Clair stated that there will be <br />tools and various other small shop items for sale. Mr. St. Clair <br />noted that it is anticipated that a Public Auction will be held <br />on October 3, 1992 to dispose of this property. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved and the <br />appropriate Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the following <br />Resolution No. 34-1992 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34-1992 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR DISPOSAL OF <br />UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the South Bend Board of <br />Public Works that the property listed on the attached sheet, <br />consisting of approximately eighty-nine (89) vehicles, one (1) <br />recycler, seven (7) dump beds, six (6) street sweepers, two (2) <br />motorcycles and four (4) jack hammers, together with <br />miscellaneous tools and other small shop items_ not listed on the <br />attached sheet, are obsolete or unfit for the purpose for which <br />they were intended and are no longer needed by the City of South <br />Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes a <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. - <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the items listed are no longer <br />needed by the City, are obsolete or unfit for the purpose for <br />which they were intended, and have an estimated value of Five <br />Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) or more. <br />
