REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 20, 1992 <br />Clubhouse, its Maintenance Facility and its Parking Lot and <br />Access Road. <br />Additionally, Mr. Littrell, requested, on behalf of the <br />Department of Economic Development, that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the Studebaker Corridor Redevelopment <br />Area Residential Asbestos Abatement and Demolition Phase IV <br />Project. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. <br />Caldwell and carried, the above requests were approved. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />OF SAINT JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER TO CONDUCT 12TH ANNUAL <br />SPORTSMED 10K RACE, 10K WHEELCHAIR RACE, 5K RACE, 1 MILE FUN <br />RUN AND 4K WALK - NOVEMBER 1, 1992 <br />Mr. Rod Donigan, Executive Director and Ms. Nancy Dressen, <br />Race Director, Saint Joseph's Medical Center, 801 East <br />LaSalle, P.O. Box 1935, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />permission to conduct the Twelfth Annual Sportsmed 10K on <br />Sunday, November 1, 1992. Additionally, they plan to conduct <br />the following events: <br />5K Race 1:00 P.M. <br />4K Walk 1:30 p.m. <br />1 Mile Fun Run 1:50 p.m. <br />Wheelchair Race 1:55 p.m. <br />10K Race 2:00 p.m. <br />Submitted with the request were the routes for these events. <br />Mr. Donigan and Ms. Dressen advised that this year's event <br />will include a Community Health Fair on Saturday, October 31, <br />1992 at the Century Center. <br />- TO CLOSE ECKMAN STREET, FROM ST. JOSEPH TO CARROLL, FOR BLOCK <br />PARTY - AUGUST 9, 1992 <br />Mr. Ralph D. Ziebart, 217 East Eckman Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For use Of And <br />Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or <br />Similar Event, requesting that Eckman Street, from St. Joseph <br />to Carroll, be closed on Sunday, August 9, 1992, from 9:00 <br />a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a block party. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF AUSTIN COMPANY TO OCCUPY PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ALONG <br />LAFAYETTE AND LA SALLE IN CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION OF <br />SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE - AUGUST 1, 1992 - APRIL 1, 1993 <br />- OF LULAC COUNCIL 5001 TO CONDUCT WALK - SEPTEMBER 5 1992 <br />- TO CLOSE MONROE STREET, FROM SUNNYSIDE TO TWYCKENHAM, FOR <br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 15, 1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the above referred to requests, which <br />were submitted to the Board on June 22, 1992, February 3, 1992 <br />and July 13, 1992, have been reviewed by the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus and approval is recommended. Therefore <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendations be accepted <br />and the requests be approved.
