<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION
<br />AFFIDAVIT - 1991 CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Murdock & Sons Construction, Inc.,
<br />131 South Taylor Street, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted
<br />Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the Contract amount be
<br />increased by $7,791.69 for a new Contract sum including this
<br />Change Order in the amount of $72,757.82. Additionally submitted
<br />was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating this new final
<br />cost. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the
<br />Project Completion Affidavit were approved and the appropriate
<br />three-year Maintenance Bond as submitted was accepted for filing.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS - CORBY STREET STORM SEWER PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Division of Engineering has
<br />submitted to the Board for approval three (3) Change Orders for
<br />the above referred to project. The Change Orders indicate an
<br />increase of $86.00 relating to mast arms and poles, an increase
<br />of $357.00 for tree removal and a decrease of $145.00 as a credit
<br />for waterproofing. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Change
<br />Orders be approved and executed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - BOWMAN CREEK DRAINAGE PROJECT
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised
<br />that he has reviewed the four (4) bids received on July 13, 1992,
<br />for the above referred to project and recommends that the Board
<br />award the low bid of Reinke Construction Corporation, 1216 West
<br />Sample Street, P.O. Box 3095, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount
<br />of $222,594.66 which includes the base bid of $216,423.46 plus
<br />alternates. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation
<br />be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mrs. Mueller seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - EIGHT (8) 14" KNIFE GATE VALVES FOR
<br />BIOTREATMENT AREA - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert E. Toppel, Superintendent,
<br />IV, Division of Environmental Services, recommended that the
<br />Board award the low Quotation of Indiana -Michigan Valves, Inc.,
<br />3502 West McGill Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$979.00 each for eight (8) valves. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion
<br />that the recommendation be accepted and the Quotation be
<br />awarded. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS:
<br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE, CLUBHOUSE, MAINTENANCE FACILITY
<br />PARKING LOT AND ACCESS ROAD - AIRPORT 2010 DEVELOPMENT AREA
<br />- RESIDENTIAL ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION - PHASE IV
<br />STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT AREA
<br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement,
<br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately
<br />fifteen (15) abandoned vehicles on August 3, 1992, sixteen (16)
<br />abandoned vehicles on August 10, 1992 and fourteen (14) abandoned
<br />vehicles on August 17, 1992. It is noted that these vehicles are
<br />being stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was further noted that all
<br />vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days,
<br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners
<br />and lienholders notified.
<br />In a letter to the Board, Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of
<br />Engineering requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of
<br />bids for the construction of Blackthorn Golf Course, its
