<br />Mr. Glenn T. Gubi, Vice -President, Gubi's Restaurant &
<br />Lounge, 127 North Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted
<br />to the Board a Sidewalk Permit Application For Use Of The
<br />Public Right -Of -Way in front of his restaurant for a sidewalk
<br />cafe. Mr. Gubi submitted with his application a diagram
<br />showing the proposed location of the tables and chairs.

<br />Mr. W. B. Watkins, President, Basix Nightclub, 1150 Mishawaka
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an
<br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public
<br />Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, requesting that
<br />the alley between Eddy and Beyer Avenue, be closed from July
<br />2-5, 1992, alongside the nightclub, in conjunction with
<br />bungee jumping activities that will be taking place at the
<br />nightclub on those dates.

<br />Ms. Betsy Creary, 1720 East Wayne Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested that Wayne Street, from Esther Street to
<br />Greenlawn Avenue, be closed on Saturday, July 4, 1992 from
<br />1:00 P.M. to 10:00 p.m. for the annual neighborhood block
<br />party.
<br />DENY REQUEST TO CLOSE 203 N. SWANSON CIRCLE EAST TO 228 SWANSON
<br />CIRCLE NORTH FOR FAMILY REUNION - JULY 25 1992
<br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller advised that the above
<br />referred to request to close 203 North Swanson Circle East to 228
<br />Swanson Circle North for a family reunion, which was submitted to
<br />the Board on June 15, 1992, appears to be a private party and as
<br />it is the policy of the Board not to close the public
<br />right-of-way for private functions, she will make a motion that
<br />the request be denied. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which
<br />carried.

<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were
<br />submitted to the Board on May 11, 1992, June 1, 1992, June 8,
<br />1992 and June 15, 1992, and recommend approval. Therefore, Mr.
<br />Caldwell made a motion that the recommendations be accepted and
<br />the requests be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
