REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 1992 <br />request be approved subject to favorable recommendations from the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department Traffic and <br />City Attorney's office regarding this request. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS FOR ONE (1) <br />1500 G.P.M. TRIPLE COMBINATION MOTORIZED PUMPING FIRE APPARATUS <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor requested that <br />the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) 1500 <br />G.P.M. Triple Combination Motorized Pumping Fire Apparatus. <br />Chief Taylor noted that this vehicle will replace a unit that is <br />twenty (20) years old and not cost effective to repair. Lease <br />Purchase Agreements, funded by the Emergency Medical Services <br />Capital Improvement Fund, will be the method used for payment. <br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS AND READVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF <br />NEW BIDS - REFURBISHING OF ONE (1) FIRE PUMPER <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that <br />after reviewing the bids received on April 13, 1992, from Renewed <br />Performance, Inc., of Tipton, Indiana and T.P.S. of Indianapolis, <br />Indiana, -in response to the City's specifications for <br />refurbishing of one (1) fire pumper, they are recommending that <br />the bids be rejected due to an oversight on the failure to <br />include cab repairs/additions, paint preparation specifications <br />and a performance bond in the specifications. Chief Taylor noted <br />that it is important that this information be included in order <br />to meet their life expectancy for this apparatus. In this <br />regard, Chief Taylor also requests that the Board readvertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the refurbishing of one (1) fire pumper. <br />Board Attorney Mary Mueller reiterated Chief Taylor's comments <br />that there were some problems with the original specifications in <br />that portions were not included. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted, that the bids received on April 13, 1992, be <br />rejected and the request to readvise be approved. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1.
