REGULAR MEETING
MAY 11, 1992
lbs. mainly as a safety factor.
with a weight of 15,314 lbs.
Brandeis bid a machine
3. Specifications call for an extended warranty, availability
of service facilities, parts availability and first
preference of machines manufactured in the USA. The
Brandeis bid does not offer an extended warranty to
municipal customers. Their service facility is located in
Fort Wayne and they do not have a parts book available
even to them. Their machine is manufactured in England
and everything is in metric requiring new tools for the
City's service facility.
Mr. Kruszynski stated that based on the failure of Brandeis
Equipment to meet the required specifications he is recommending
that the Board accept and award the bid of MacDonald Machinery in
the amount of $53,700.00.
Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Board award the
bid of second lowest bidder, MacDonald Machinery Company, Inc.,
3911 Limestone Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, as the low bidder,
Brandeis Equipment, did not meet specifications in significant
respects. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
