Mr.
Altreuter submitted with the request descriptions and sketches of
the proposed locations. Mr. Altreuter noted that the original
planters along the building storefront on Washington and Main
Streets have been or are scheduled to be removed due to leaking
into the occupied basement of the building. They have had a
landscape architect review the different options to provide
landscaping at street level and a decision was made to use
sidewalk tree pits because they provide a vertical scale and
enhance the streetscape on Washington and Main Streets. They
have retained Turner Construction Company, the general contractor
for the building remodeling work, to handle the installation of
the sidewalk tree pits.
Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the above outlined
requested be referred to the appropriate departments and bureaus
for review and recommendation.
