<br />APRIL 6, 1992
<br />Office of Community Affairs, requested permission, on behalf
<br />of Mr. Wayne Werts, Hamfest, 1889 Riverside Drive, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, to utilize the municipal parking garage at
<br />Jefferson/St. Joseph Street. They would like to hold their
<br />annual,event on June 28, 1992 from 4:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
<br />- OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE, INC. TO CONDUCT PARADE -
<br />MAY 6, 1992
<br />Mr. Rick L. Kring, Opening Day Chairman, Maurice Matthys
<br />Little League, Box 3074, South Bend, Indiana, requested that
<br />the little league be granted permission to conduct its annual
<br />opening day parade beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May
<br />16, 1992 utilizing the following route:
<br />Begin at the Matthys Little League Ball Park, proceed
<br />east on Meadow Lane to Edison, north on Edison and
<br />Villageway to Washington, east on Washington to
<br />Gladstone, north on Gladstone to Linden, west on
<br />Linden to Lombardy Drive, south on Lombardy Drive
<br />to Ford Street, west on Ford Street to Sample, east
<br />on Sample to Evergreen and south on Evergreen to
<br />the ball park.
<br />Mr. Kring noted that it is anticipated that approximately
<br />sixty (60) vehicles will participate in this parade.
<br />OF STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET. BETWEEN
<br />MAIN AND LAFAYETTE, AND LAFAYETTE STREET BETWEEN BRONSON AND
<br />MONROE STREETS, ON MAY 2-3, 1992 IN CONJUNCTION WITH
<br />STUDEBAKER FESTIVAL
<br />Mr. Thomas Appel, Museum Operations Manager, Studebaker
<br />National Museum, 525 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />advised that the Museum will once again be holding the
<br />Studebaker Festival on May 1-3, 1992.
<br />The Festival Committee requests permission to close South
<br />Street, between Main and Lafayette, on May 2nd and 3rd so
<br />patrons will be able to walk freely from one parking lot to
<br />another without having to worry about traffic.
<br />Additionally, Mr. Appel noted that they would also like to
<br />consider closing off part of Lafayette Street, between
<br />Bronson and Monroe Streets, on Saturday only, May 2, 1992.
<br />The festival will also need to have twenty-two (22) street
<br />barricades and at least six (6) arrow and six (6) no parking
<br />signs to help direct traffic. Sand bags will also be needed.
<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of two (2) lists
<br />as submitted by the Department of Code Enforcement indicating
<br />that thirty-seven (37) miscellaneous properties were cleaned by
<br />the Department from March 25, 1992 to March 26, 1992.
<br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the lists be accepted for
<br />filing. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was
<br />approved:
<br />NEW INSTALLATION: One (1) Hour Parking (6 AM - 6 PM)
<br />LOCATION: 1326 South Michigan Street
