REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 30, 1992 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 - RIVER CROSSING 1 IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of Change <br />Order No. 1 as submitted by Lawson -Fisher Associates, 525 West <br />Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana and Woodruff and Sons, <br />Inc., 2125 US Highway 12, Michigan City, Indiana, for the above <br />referred to project indicating an increase of $191,381.66 for a <br />new Contract amount, including this Change Order, in the amount <br />of $871,351.06. Mr. Leszczynski noted that it was discovered <br />that a section of pipe that was originally thought to be usable <br />could not be utilized because of its condition and therefore it <br />had to be replaced thus necessitating this unforeseen increase. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Change Order as <br />submitted be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: <br />LOCATION: <br />REMARKS: <br />Handicap Parking Sign <br />2421 Westmoor <br />Requested by Ms. Mary Bailey <br />2. REMOVAL OF: Handicap Parking Sign <br />LOCATION: 219 East Marion <br />REMARKS: Resident, Ms. Charlotte Wentland, <br />is deceased <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- REQUEST OF GIBSON-LEWIS, INC. TO PLACE DUMPSTER ON NAVARRE <br />STREET AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION <br />PROJECT <br />- REQUEST OF THE AUSTIN COMPANY TO CLOSE THE SIDEWALK ON <br />COLFAX AVENUE DIRECTLY SOUTH OF THE SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION PROJECT <br />- REQUEST OF MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO CLOSE BARTLETT STREET, <br />FROM MAIN TO LAFAYETTE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAFETY FAIR - <br />OCTOBER 10, 1992 <br />- QUEST OF CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE <br />ANNUAL OPENIN( <br />►Y PARADE - MAY 2, 1992 <br />C. TO CONDUCT <br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND <br />WSBT-TV TO ADD TRIATHALON TO SUNBURST EVENTS - JUNE 6. <br />1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, <br />which were submitted to the Board on March 2, 1992, March 16, <br />1992 and March 23, 1992, have been reviewed by the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended.' <br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request of <br />Gibson -Lewis, Inc., and The Austin Company be approved subject to <br />them providing the required bonds and insurance requirements. <br />Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request of Memorial Hospital, <br />Chet Waggoner and the South Bend Tribune be approved with <br />Memorial and Chet Waggoner providing the required Indemnification <br />and Hold Harmless Agreement and the South Bend Tribune providing <br />the necessary insurance and standard Agreement for Use of Public <br />Right -Of -Way For Foot Races And Similar Events.
