REGULAR MEETING MARCH 30, 1992 APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 - RIVER CROSSING 1 IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of Change Order No. 1 as submitted by Lawson -Fisher Associates, 525 West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana and Woodruff and Sons, Inc., 2125 US Highway 12, Michigan City, Indiana, for the above referred to project indicating an increase of $191,381.66 for a new Contract amount, including this Change Order, in the amount of $871,351.06. Mr. Leszczynski noted that it was discovered that a section of pipe that was originally thought to be usable could not be utilized because of its condition and therefore it had to be replaced thus necessitating this unforeseen increase. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Change Order as submitted be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION: LOCATION: REMARKS: Handicap Parking Sign 2421 Westmoor Requested by Ms. Mary Bailey 2. REMOVAL OF: Handicap Parking Sign LOCATION: 219 East Marion REMARKS: Resident, Ms. Charlotte Wentland, is deceased APPROVE REQUESTS: - REQUEST OF GIBSON-LEWIS, INC. TO PLACE DUMPSTER ON NAVARRE STREET AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION PROJECT - REQUEST OF THE AUSTIN COMPANY TO CLOSE THE SIDEWALK ON COLFAX AVENUE DIRECTLY SOUTH OF THE SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE IN CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION PROJECT - REQUEST OF MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO CLOSE BARTLETT STREET, FROM MAIN TO LAFAYETTE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAFETY FAIR - OCTOBER 10, 1992 - QUEST OF CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE ANNUAL OPENIN( ►Y PARADE - MAY 2, 1992 C. TO CONDUCT REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND WSBT-TV TO ADD TRIATHALON TO SUNBURST EVENTS - JUNE 6. 1992 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, which were submitted to the Board on March 2, 1992, March 16, 1992 and March 23, 1992, have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended.' Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request of Gibson -Lewis, Inc., and The Austin Company be approved subject to them providing the required bonds and insurance requirements. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request of Memorial Hospital, Chet Waggoner and the South Bend Tribune be approved with Memorial and Chet Waggoner providing the required Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement and the South Bend Tribune providing the necessary insurance and standard Agreement for Use of Public Right -Of -Way For Foot Races And Similar Events.
