REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 30, 1992 <br />9 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Contract was approved and the <br />Bond and Labor and Materials <br />filed. <br />Mr. Caldwell and carried, the <br />appropriate Insurance, Performance <br />Payment Bond as submitted were <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWO (2) <br />SINGLE AXLE CAB AND CHASSIS - DEPARTMENT OF SANITATION <br />In a letter to -the Board, Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, <br />Department of Sanitation, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for two (2) single axle cab and chassis. <br />These items were approved in the Department of Sanitation's 1992 <br />budget and will be used by the Department of Sanitation <br />Construction Department as crew trucks. Mr. Kruszynski noted <br />that the proposed bid will reflect a trade-in of two (2) separate <br />units. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />Mueller and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY THAT THE BOARD OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS ACT AS AGENT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NIMTZ PARKWAY <br />Mrs. Ann E. Kolata, Deputy Executive Director, Department of <br />Economic Development, advised members of the Board that on March <br />16, 1992, the Redevelopment Authority authorized her to ask the <br />Board to act as its agent for construction of Nimtz Parkway. <br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: <br />Ms. Jacqueliner MacKenzie, Coordinator, St. <br />Watercolor Society, Inc., 1919 Aspin Drive, <br />advised that the St. Joe Valley Watercolor <br />of the Leeper Park Art Fair, have obtained <br />the Board of Park Commissioners to utilize <br />the Annual Art Fair. <br />Elkhart, Indiana <br />Society, sponsors <br />permission from <br />Leeper Park for <br />Therefore, they would like to request the same traffic flow <br />changes as they had last year as follows: <br />- Change Riverside Drive, on the north side of Leeper Park, <br />to one-way west. <br />- Change Park Lane, on the south side of Leeper Park, to <br />one-way east. <br />- Post no parking on one side of Riverside Drive. <br />- Post no parking on one side of Park Lane. <br />- Traffic control and security assistance from the Civil <br />Defense Police. Security required from 6:00 p.m. Saturday, <br />June 20, 1992 until 9:00 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 1992. <br />- OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY TO CLOSE WASHINGTON <br />STREET, BETWEEN MAIN AND LAFAYETTE BLVD , IN CONJUNCTION WITH <br />MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 25 199'2 <br />Ms. Virginia Hanson, Secretary, St. Joseph County Memorial <br />Society, 19459 Orchard Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />that.Washington Street, between Main and Lafayette Boulevard, <br />be closed for approximately one (1) hour on Monday, May 25, <br />1992 at 2:00 p.m. in conjunction with Memorial Day activities <br />to be conducted in front of the Sailors and Soliders Monument <br />on the courthouse lawn. <br />
