REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1992 the requirement that an office be open twenty-four (24) hours a day for dispatching purposes. Mrs. Mueller stated that it is her understanding that a Public Hearing was held by the Board on March 2, 1992 regarding this application. She advised that it is the decision of the Controller's office whether the applicant meets the requirements of the ordinance and the Board's decision will be based on the issue of public convenience and necessity. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the application be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. In response to an inquiry from the news media, Mrs. Mueller reiterated that the Controllers office will decide all of the technical matters and that the Board of Public Works only decides whether there is a need for this public convenience and necessity. She stated that testimony was given at the Public Hearing that there are times when people have to wait for a taxicab. BEND TION TABLED - VACATION OF 1ST E 10 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Attorney Kenneth P. Fedder, 300, South Bend, Indiana, on Notre Dame Avenue, South Ben alley has been submitted to A ALLEY SOUTH OF SOUTH a Vacation Petition as filed by 205 West Jefferson Boulevard, Suite behalf of Mahmoud A. Hussein, 744 d, Indiana, to vacate the following the Board for recommendation: The 1st east/west alley south of South Bend Avenue running east from Notre Dame Avenue, for a distance of approximately 150.38 feet to a point which is approximately 10 feet west of the lst north/south alley east of Notre Dame Avenue, all in "Sorin's 1st Addition to the Town of Lowell." Mrs. Mueller inquired if a recommendation has been received from the Department of Code Enforcement concerning this Petition. As they had not been asked for their recommendation, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Board table making a recommendation concerning this Vacation Petition until the Department of Code Enforcement is able to provide their recommendation to the Board. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDA The following Community Development Addenda were presented to the Board for approval: ADDENDUM I HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION CHRISTMAS IN APRIL (CD91-109) Addendum I extends the Contract term to March 31, 1992. ADDENDUM II HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION HOUSING REHABILITATION FUND ACTIVITY (CD90-102) Addendum II extends the Contract term to December 31, 1992. ADDENDUM IV HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION HOUSING REHABILITATION FUND ACTIVITY (CD91-102C) Addendum IV extends the Contract term to December 31, 1992. ADDENDUM I HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION EMERGENCY REPAIRS (CD91-107) Addendum I extends the Contract term to March 31, 1992.
