A rain date of May 3, 1992 has also been set. <br />Ms. Stevens noted that they propose to start the race as far <br />west of Pinhook Park as possible past the Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant up to the overpass. Skaters would skate from <br />the park to.this point. They would skate on Riverside Drive <br />for nearly 5K 13 miles) past Riverside North Apartments but <br />turn around before the railroad tracks. This is a hairpin <br />turn and they will skate for nearly 5K (3 miles) back to the <br />start and encounter the second hairpin turn just before the <br />overpass and skate back to Pinhook to complete the last .2 of <br />a mile. <br />Ms. Stevens further noted that IUSBe Green, Michiana Earth <br />Day Committee and Club Shred are joining together to organize <br />the first EARTHBLADE race in order to promote an ecologically <br />safe mode of transportation, to promote the positive health <br />aspects of in -line -skating and to extend the goals of Earth <br />Day. Further, The Rollerblade Company has been contacted for <br />participation and sponsorship in the event. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND <br />WSBT-TV TO CONDUCT 8TH ANNUAL SUNBURST MARATHON 5K AND 10K FOOT <br />RACES - JUNE 6, 1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on February 17, 1992, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />request be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following one (1) secondhand <br />dealers license application has been received: <br />NAME: THE BOUTIQUE EXCHANGE <br />BY: Phyllis McCormick <br />ADDRESS: 529 North Niles Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Clothing & Accessories <br />It is noted that favorable recommendations have been received <br />from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the above <br />application. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above license application was <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1.
