REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1992 <br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - REPAIR OF A BURST WATER <br />MAIN AT THE NORTHWEST STAIR TOWER OF THE ST. JOSEPH/JEFFERSON <br />PARKING GARAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ideal Consolidated, Inc., 806 West - <br />Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted a Project <br />Completion Affidavit for the above referred to project indicating <br />a final cost of $910.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Project Completion <br />Affidavit was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS- RENOVATION <br />OF TWO (2) 60 FOOT DIAMETER GAS STORAGE SPHERES - WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Karl R. Kopec, Manager of <br />Operations, Division of Environmental Services, requested that <br />the Board advertise for the receipt of bids to renovate the two <br />(2) 60-foot diameter gas storage spheres at the Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant. Mr. Kopec noted that the bulk of the renovation <br />will entail the replacement of the three (3) steel plates that <br />comprise the lower section of each sphere. Mr. Leszczynski made <br />a motion that the request be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: <br />OF HOSPICE OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INC. TO CONDUCT 7TH ANNUAL <br />WALK FOR HOSPICE - OCTOBER 11, 1992 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Mark M. Murray, Assistant <br />Executive Director, Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 108 <br />North Main Street, Suites 111-113, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to conduct the 7th Annual Walk for <br />Hospice on Sunday, October 11, 1992. <br />Mr. Murray stated that the Walk would be a 17K Walk which <br />would begin and end at Potawatomi Park. Registration at the <br />park would begin at 12:00 noon with the Walk commencing at <br />1:00 p.m. Because the Walk route is not lengthy (about 10 <br />miles) it is expected that the participants would be finished <br />by 5:00 p.m. Mr. Murray submitted with the request the <br />proposed route which is the same as used last year. <br />FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 810 ROOSEVELT <br />Mrs. Jackie Walton, 810 Roosevelt Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised the Board that her husband, Dale Walton, had <br />a heart transplant seven (7) years ago and has.a lot of <br />difficulty walking now. As their neighbors and their <br />neighbors visitors park in front of their residence they are <br />unable to utilize the parking space in front of their home. <br />Therefore, they are requesting that the parking space in <br />front of 810 Roosevelt Street be designated as a handicapped <br />parking space. <br />OF IUSBe GREEN CAMPUS ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP, MICHIANA EARTH DAY <br />COMMITTEE AND CLUB SHRED (SOUTH BEND'S IN -LINE SKATING CLUB) <br />TO CONDUCT 3K AND 10K IN -LINE SKATING RACE - APRIL 26, 1992 <br />Ms. Julia M. Stevens, 17150 Cherokee Drive, South Bend, <br />Indiana, on behalf of IUSBe Green Campus Environmental Group, <br />the Michiana Earth Day Committee and Club Shred, a South Bend <br />in -line skating club, requested permission to conduct a 3K <br />and a 10K in -line skating race to be held at 9:00 a.m. on <br />Sunday, April 26, 1992 in conjunction with Earth Day <br />
