REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1,992
Appropriation and Appointment of Appraisers for the record. Mr.
Taylor also submitted a letter from Planned Parenthood, which is
the other owner of lots affected, stating they are in favor of
this project.
Therefore, Mr. Taylor stated that they are requesting that
Jefferson be closed from the west side of Lot 432 to forty feet
east of the southeast corner of Lot 429. Mr. Taylor noted that
there is an Easement incorporated into Lot #10 which services all
of the lots of the area and they want to leave that open so
Easement is still available.
Mr. Taylor displayed for the Board an architectural diagram of
the proposed museum expansion explaining how the plans will
utilize the street proposed to be vacated.
There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or
against the proposed vacation, and no written objections having
been filed with the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Public Hearing on this
matter was closed.
Board member Patricia E. DeClercq inquired about proposed
turnarounds that would be required should this portion of
Jefferson street be closed. Mr. Taylor noted that they would be
responsible for the installation of the required turnarounds.
Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr.
Caldwell and carried, the Clerk was instructed to forward to the
Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above referred
to vacation.
submitted to the Board a Consultant Agreement
South Bend and Ken Herceg & Associates, Inc.,
Boulevard, Suite 200, South Bend, Indiana.
between the City of
224 West Jefferson
Mr. Leszczynski noted that the City has outgrown the garage at
the Department of Sanitation and some work needs to be done in
this regard. He also noted that the fee under this Agreement
shall not exceed $2,050.00.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
carried, the Agreement was approved and executed.
APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT - TRIAD ENGINEERING
INCORPORATED (MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT -
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT)
Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of
Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement between the City and Triad
Engineering Incorporated, 325 East Chicago Street, Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, in regards to Phase I of the Maintenance Management
Needs Assessment, indicating an additional cost of $7,251,00.
Mr. Leszczynski further indicated that Triad Engineering, under
this Amendement, will provide some instrumentation and process
diagrams as part of the maintenance update. It is noted that on
September 3, 1991, the Board entered into an Agreement with Triad
Engineering for professional engineering services related to the
Maintenance Management Needs Assessment for the Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that Amendment No. 1 be approved and
executed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
1
1
1
