1 1 1 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 23, 1993 Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately twenty-two (22) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the above request was approved and a date of September 1993, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. 7, APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE THE SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller submitted to the Board an appraisal for land which the City is considering selling. Mrs. Mueller noted that the property is located off of the west side of the City's Municipal Services Facility and is approximately three - fourths (3/4's) of an acre. The estimate of the value of the land is $9,600.00. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this property be offered for sale. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUESTS: - OF FIRST AME ZION CHURCH TO CLOSE CAMPEAU, FROM EDDY TO FRANCES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHURCH CORN AND SAUSAGE ROAST - AUGUST 28, 1993 - TO CLOSE LA SALLE, FROM TWYCKENHAM TO ESTHER Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the request of the First AME Zion Church to close Campeau, from Eddy to Frances Street, and recommend approval. It is noted that this request was submitted to the Board on August 16, 1993. Additionally, it was noted that Ms. Jeanne Weir, 1525 East LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party or Similar Event, requesting that LaSalle Avenue, from Twyckenham to Esther, be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 1993 (rain date of Monday, September 6, 1993), for a neighborhood block party. It was further noted that this request has also been reviewed by the necessary City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the requests be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS BONDS Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Bonds of Contractors be approved and/or released as follows: Housing Development of St. Joseph County 521 Eclipse Place South Bend, IN Dallas Los, d/b/a Dallas Concrete Corporation Release Eff. 8-23-93 Approve Eff. 8-23-93 Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bonds be approved and/or released as indicated. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
