3 U, <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 23, 1993 <br />APPROVE SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following two (2) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: TREASURES FROM THE ATTIC <br />BY: Lori L. Minix <br />ADDRESS: 2220 Mishawaka Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Secondhand furniture <br />NAME: THE COBWEB ANTIQUES AND <br />COLLECTIBLES ON THE EAST RACE <br />BY: Patrice Ann Swank <br />ADDRESS: 511 East Jefferson Boulevard <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Antiques, collectibles, secondhand <br />used furniture and miscellaneous <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department concerning the above applications. Upon a motion made <br />by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of licenses. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of a <br />monthly report as submitted by the Humane Society of St. Joseph <br />County, Inc., for the month of July, 1993. The report indicates <br />the type and number of animals handled for the City of South Bend. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the report be accepted for <br />filing as submitted. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing one hundred ten (110) City <br />owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the <br />Department from August 8, 1993 to August 12, 1993. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the lists as submitted be <br />accepted for filing. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount <br />of $2,520,768.27 and recommended approval. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the claims be approved and the report as submitted be <br />filed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />QUESTION CONCERNING STATUS OF TRAFFIC STUDY - CALVERT STREET <br />Mr. Tom Howell, Radio Station U93, inquired of Mr. Leszczynski the <br />status of the study being conducted by Cole Associates regarding <br />the closing of some streets in the vicinity of Riley High School. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that it will be a couple of weeks before <br />the results of that study are available. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
