<br />UEVELUYMENT SERVICES/CITY OF SOUTH BEND
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Workforce Development Services of
<br />Northern Indiana, has submitted a Line Contract for Business
<br />Assistance Services between WDS and the City of South Bend. This
<br />Contract, for the period July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1994,
<br />provides for a monthly retainer fee of $500.00 for up to six (6)
<br />hours of legal advisement of an Assistant City Attorney on WDS
<br />matters. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this Contract be
<br />approved and executed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />Mr. Jack J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services,
<br />submitted to the Board a Certificate of Substantial Completion for
<br />the above referred to project as executed by Shaum Electric
<br />Company, Inc., 1125 Nappanee Street, Elkhart, Indiana. It was
<br />noted that this project entailed the installation of a new
<br />electric motor, drive shaft, emergency generator and 1,000 gallon
<br />fuel storage tank for raw sewage pump #3. Mr. Leszczynski made a
<br />motion that this Certificate be accepted and approved. Mrs.
<br />Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
<br />Division of Environmental Services, has provided to the Board a
<br />Certificate of Substantial Completion for the above referred to
<br />project. This Certificate was executed by Fairbanks Morse Pump
<br />Corporation, 3601 Fairbanks Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski made a motion that this Certificate be accepted and
<br />approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION - DIVISION B -
<br />INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF PUMP NO. 3 - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
<br />Mr. Jack J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services,
<br />submitted to the Board a Certificate of Substantial Completion for
<br />the above referred to project. The Certificate has been executed
<br />by Hydroaire, Inc., 834 West Madison, Chicago, Illinois, the
<br />contractor for this project. Mr. Dillon informed members of the
<br />Board that this project entailed the inspection and repair of the
<br />right angle drive for the raw sewage pump #3. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />made a motion that the Certificate be accepted and approved. Mrs.
<br />Mueller seconded the motion which carried.

<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Bob Allen, Manager, Bureau of
<br />Public Construction, advised that on August 9, 1993, the Board
<br />received bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Allen noted
<br />that he has reviewed the bids and found that the amounts of the
<br />bids agree with the amounts read at the Board meeting. Therefore,
<br />Mr. Allen recommended that the Board award the low bid of Rieth-
<br />Riley Construction Company, Inc., P.O. Box 1775, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $1,892,377.05, subject to completion of
<br />
