2 _,, <br />`A• v <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 9, 1993 <br />No. 833 <br />Amount: $270,000.00 <br />Expires: November 12, 1993 <br />Account of: Topsfield Road Development Corporation <br />15802 Cedar Ridge Court <br />Granger, Indiana <br />Additionally, valley American Bank has amended this Irrevocable <br />Standby Letter of Credit as follows: <br />No. 833 <br />Amount: $350,000.00 <br />Expires: November 12, 1993 <br />Account of: Topsfield Road Development Corporation <br />15802 Cedar Ridge Court <br />Granger, Indiana <br />It is noted that the amended Letter of Credit reflects an increase <br />of $80,000.00 to the amount. All other terms remain the same. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Board accept both <br />the original Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit No. 833 and the <br />amended Letter of Credit. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />AWARD BID - FIFTY (50), NEW FM PORTABLE RADIOS AND ACCESSORIES FOR <br />FREQUENCIES 403-512MHz BANDS <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak <br />recommended that the Board award the bid of Shearer <br />Communications, Inc., 15037 State Road 23, Granger, Indiana, for <br />fifty (50) portable transceiver radios as bid. Chief Marciniak <br />noted that after review of the bid specifications and consultation <br />with Mr. Al Miller of the Communications Bureau, it has been <br />agreed that the recommended bid is both the lowest and the best <br />offer. <br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller noted that the bid <br />submitted by Shearer Communications, Inc., included the trickle <br />desk charger. The apparent low bid submitted by Ericsson GE did <br />not include the desk chargers. <br />Chief Marciniak stated that the Police Department requests that <br />the fifty (50) UHF portable radios model HT1000 (8 channel <br />minimum) at $650.00 each be purchased along with the following <br />options: <br />Fifty (50) radios at $650.00 each $32,500.00 <br />Fifty (50) Speaker/mics at $72.00 each $ 3,600.00 <br />Fifty (50) Swivel Mount Plates at $27.00 each $ 1,350.00 <br />Fifty (50) belt loops at $8.00 each $ 400.00 <br />TOTAL: $37,850.00 <br />Mr. Al Miller, Bureau of Communications, advised that the bid <br />price of $650.00 as submitted by Shearer Communications, Inc. for <br />Motorola radios, includes the trickle desk charger in the base <br />price. Additional units may be purchased for $22.00 each. This <br />makes the total price $650.00 for the portable with charger. <br />The bid price of $630.00 by Ericsson GE for General Electric <br />radios does not include a charger. The charger must be purchased <br />for an additional $57.00 per unit. This makes the total price for <br />portable with charger $687.00. <br />Additionally, Mr. Miller noted that in the bid specifications, a <br />separate channel select knob was specified.
