<br />Inc., providing and installing a caged coupling spring assembly
<br />for the right angle drive unit for raw sewage pump #3. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 - PUMP NO. 3 DRIVE REPLACEMENT
<br />(WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT)
<br />It is noted that Shaum Electric Company, Inc., 1125 Nappanee
<br />Street, Elkhart, Indiana, submitted Change Order No. 1 indicating
<br />that the Contract amount be increased by $14,140.00 for a new
<br />Contract sum, including this Change Order, in the amount of
<br />$260,400.00. Mr. Leszczynski stated that this increase is due to
<br />the installation of a new shaft for raw sewage pump #3. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS - EDISON ROAD WIDENING PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of seven (7)
<br />Change Orders in conjunction with the Edison Road Widening Project
<br />as follows:
<br />- Decrease $120,833.53
<br />- Decrease $ 188.71
<br />- Increase $ 4,074.00
<br />- Increase $ 350.00
<br />- Decrease $ 18,487.80
<br />- Increase $ 8,925.00
<br />- Increase $ 30,953.90
<br />Mr. Leszczynski briefly explained the reason for each change order
<br />and made a motion that the first change order presented indicating
<br />a decrease of $120,833.53 be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the
<br />motion which carried. Additionally, Mrs. Mueller made six (6)
<br />separate motions that each of the remaining six (6) change orders,
<br />as outlined above, be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded each
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - SALE OF EQUIPMENT:
<br />- SIX (6) ISCO MODEL 3210 OPEN CHANNEL FLOW METERS
<br />- SIX (6) ULTRASONIC LEVEL SENSORS AND .CABLES
<br />- ONE (1) FIVE STATION BATTERY CHARGER
<br />- INCLUDING MANUALS, COMPUTER INTERFACE CABLE, PLOTTER PAPER,
<br />EXTENSION CABLE AND SOFTWARE USED WITH THESE METERS
<br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services,
<br />informed the Board that he has reviewed the one (1) bid received
<br />on July 12, 1993 for the above referred to equipment as submitted
<br />by Lawson -Fisher Associates, 525 West Washington Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $7,200.00. Mr. Dillon advised
<br />that the Division of Environmental Services believes that this bid
<br />is a fair offer and recommends that the Board award the bid to
<br />Lawson -Fisher Associates. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a
<br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded.
<br />Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
<br />Mr. Don Fozo, Building Commissioner, St. Joseph County/South Bend
<br />Building Department, advised that on June 14, 1993, the Board of
<br />Public Works approved a request of Lykowski Construction, Inc.,
<br />21707 West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, to move a house from
<br />the northwest corner of Corby and Hickory to a parcel west of
<br />16860 Catalpa. Mr. Fozo advised that at this time the owner of
<br />the dwelling has changed his mover to Mitschelen Relocators, Inc.,
<br />21190 Johnson Road, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Fozo noted that this
