REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 1, 1993 <br />School Corporation for certain properties being used during the <br />1993 Ethnic Festival. <br />OF WUBS-89.7 FM COMMUNITY RADIO STATION TO CONDUCT PARADE - <br />JULY 10, 1993 <br />Rev. Sylvester Williams, Jr., Executive Director, Interfaith <br />Christian Union, Inc., P.O. Box 3931, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that on July 10, 1993 at 9:00 a.m., WUBS-89.7 FM <br />Community Radio Station is sponsoring a parade in <br />conjunction with their "Violent Free in 93" citywide <br />campaign. <br />Rev. Williams noted that the parade will begin at Jesse <br />Dickinson Middle School, proceed down Edison to Lincolnway <br />West to Olive Street, to Linden Avenue and then to the <br />Martin Luther King Center field. It is estimated that this <br />parade will take less than one (1) hour. <br />OF NORTHERN INDIANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO INSTALL FOUR (4) <br />BANNER POLES IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY IN FRONT OF <br />COPSHAHOLM (800 WEST WASHINGTON) <br />Ms. Kathleen Stiso Mullins, Executive Director, Northern <br />Indiana Historical Society, 808 West Washington Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Society is requesting <br />permission to place four (4) steel pipes to be used for <br />banner poles in the tree lawn area on the south side of the <br />800 block of West Washington Street in front of Copshaholm. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - BLACKTHORN <br />GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION WELL PROJECT <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, requested, on behalf of the Department of <br />Economic Development, that the Board advertise for the receipt of <br />bids for the Blackthorn Golf Course Irrigation Well Project <br />(Airport 2010 Development Area). Mr. Caldwell made a motion that <br />this request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUESTS APPROVED: <br />REQUEST OF LA SALLE LANDING LODGE, TO CLOSE LAUREL S <br />FROM WESTERN AVENUE TO NAPIER - JUNE 5-6. 1993 <br />REQUEST OF FAITH APOSTOLIC TEMPLE TO CLOSE DIAMOND AVENUE, <br />FROM L.W.W. TO FIRST ALLEY, IN CONJUNCTION WITH FESTIVAL - <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the request of the LaSalle Landing <br />Lodge, which was submitted to the Board on May 24, 1993, has been <br />reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and <br />approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion <br />that the request be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />Additionally, it was noted that the Board is in receipt of an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of - <br />Way For A Party Or Similar Events submitted by Mrs. Diana Miller, <br />Board Member, Faith Apostolic Temple, 1318 Lincolnway West, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requesting that Diamond Avenue, from Lincolnway <br />West to the first alley, be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on <br />Saturday, June 5, 1993, in conjunction with the church festival <br />honoring the high school graduates. It was further noted that <br />this request has also been reviewed by the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus and approval is recommended. Mr. Caldwell <br />Fj <br />1 <br />
