<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation:
<br />OF RIVERPARK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION INC. TO CONDUCT PARADE ON
<br />AUGUST 21, 1993 AND TO CLOSE MISHAWAKA AVENUE, FROM IRONWOOD
<br />TO 30TH STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH RIVER PARK DAY FESTIVAL
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. K.R. Palmer, President,
<br />Riverpark Business Association, Inc., 2926 Mishawaka Avenue,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Association is holding
<br />their annual "River Park Day Festival" on August 21, 1993.
<br />Mr. Palmer requested permission to conduct the annual Parade
<br />on this date beginning at 9:00 a.m. The parade begins in
<br />the IUSB parking lot and proceeds down Mishawaka Avenue to
<br />35th Street.
<br />Mr. Palmer further requested that Mishawaka Avenue be closed
<br />from Ironwood to 30th Street from the beginning of the
<br />parade at 9:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the activities
<br />at 7:00 p.m.
<br />OF FOREST SIGN & DISPLAY, INC. TO INSTALL A SIGN AT 520
<br />SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET
<br />Mr. Brian Jesswein, Forest Sign & Display, Inc., 2729 South
<br />Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to
<br />install one (1) double face non -illuminated sign at Stoll
<br />Printing & Design, 520 South Michigan Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. Mr. Jesswin submitted with the request a diagram
<br />indicating the dimensions of the sign.
<br />OF VIETNAM VETERANS TO CONDUCT 5TH ANNUAL P.O.W./M.I.A.
<br />HUSTAUE YKEEDOM MARCH - AUGUST 14, 1993
<br />Mr. Bob Farkas, 68137 Lawndale Street, Edwardsburg,
<br />Michigan, advised that in honor of all the Americans who are
<br />held prisoner of war, missing in action or hostage by
<br />foreign and hostile nations, the Vietnam Veterans announced
<br />the 5th Annual P.O.W./M.I.A. Hostage Freedom March to be
<br />held from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on August 14, 1993. Mr.
<br />Farkas submitted with the request a route for this March
<br />which will begin at the stateline south of Niles and end at
<br />Howard Park in South Bend.
<br />TO CLOSE SUNNYMEDE AVENUE_, FROM GREENLAWN TO TWYCKENHAM,
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 3, 1993
<br />Mr. Tom Wisniewski, 1620 Sunnymede, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And
<br />Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or
<br />Similar Event, requesting that Sunnymede Avenue, from
<br />Greenlawn to Twyckenham, be closed on Saturday, July 3,
<br />1993, (rain date of July 4, 1993) from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00
<br />p.m. for a neighborhood block party.
