REGULAR MEETING MAY 24, 1993 <br />It was noted that bids for this service were opened by the Board <br />on May 10, 1993. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD PROPOSAL - COLLECTION SERVICES FOR PAST DUE AMBULANCE <br />ACCOUNTS FOR 1993 - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor informed members of the Board that he <br />would recommend that the Board award the Proposal of Credit Bureau <br />of South Bend -Mishawaka, 312 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, for collection services for past due ambulance accounts <br />for 1993. It was noted that Proposals for this services were <br />opened by the Board on April 26, 1993. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller <br />made a motion that the Proposal be awarded as recommended. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />sixteen (16) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super <br />Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more <br />than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for <br />auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the <br />request was approved and a date of June 7, 1993, was established <br />for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />OF LA SALLELANDING LODGE TO CLO! <br />TO NAPIER, IN CONJUNCTION WITH DRILL-A-RAMA <br />Ms. Bernice Freeman, State of Local Convent <br />Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of <br />ROM WESTERN <br />- JUNE 5-6, 1993 <br />on Directress, <br />Elks of the <br />World, LaSalle Landing Lodge #298, 1001 Western Avenue, South <br />Bend, Indiana, advised that the LaSalle Landing Lodge will be <br />hosting the 70th Annual State Association of Lodges and <br />Temples Convention in South Bend from June 5-9, 1993. <br />Ms. Freeman stated that their B.J. Clark Youth Department <br />will be having their Drill -A -Rama and sales on Saturday and <br />June 5, 1993 and Sunday, June 6, 1993 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 <br />p.m. Therefore, they are requesting that Laurel Street, from <br />Western Avenue to Napier, be closed so their youth may use <br />the street. <br />TO CLOSE WILBER STREET, FROM MARQUETTE STREET TO PORTAGE <br />AVENUE, FOR 4TH OF JULY BLOCK PARTY - JULY 4, 1993 <br />Ms. Susan M.
